GR86 Headlight aim too low

Welp...maybe you can ignore this. Someone in the US worked out that using a screwdriver might actually make it easier

This thread is extremely helpful (thanks Conscript) and also shows the adjustment using a screwdriver which appears easier than my method of using a spanner.Someone posted on the US forum, clockwise up, anti-clockwise down.
Low beam adjustments
I adjusted mine today to lift them a bit, following the US thread where they reference you need to adjust both 'wheels' (2 per side) to the same amount of turns. I've no idea what the second one does as I've matched it but the dipped beam didn't move at all. You need a long thin shaft 
philips to get to the back one.
So yeah, only the 'accessible' wheels seemed to do anything to the level, but who knows. Maybe it's a high beam thing but i thought that just lifts it a set amount from low beam.
Hopefully I can improve the naff all visibility on dipped beam as we head into the darker months

Reading that US thread, it's not totally clear but someone speculates that the wheels aren't actually adjusting the lens, they are adjusting the entire headlight housing, with one for each side. Hence needing to adjust them both in tandem. I'm a bit perplexed at the double wheel thing, but had a few days apart adjusting as I didn't have the longer screwdriver either, can't imagine any harm done, just remembered how many turns on each side and roughly matched it.
Now to adjust that melodramatic light sensor, most bridges seem to set it off even in broad daylight. I'm sure I saw the setting on techstream to adjust sensitivity so I'll have a peruse.
Yeah the setting can be adjusted in Techstream.
I realised the other day that my headlights have actually been switched permanently on for the last few weeks, and I've just left it. Weathers getting grim, so auto won't always put them on when they should be on, and when you shut off the ignition they go off anyway instead of just bleeping at you.

Do you not have welcome lights when you open the car? If you leave them on they always come on when you unlock the car. Mine do anyway.

They're not much better on minimum sensitivity, I still often end up switching them on or off manually.
The calibration of the light sensor is terrible, even on least sensitive setting it is not great. They can't have spent more than 10minutes on it during development!

I measured about 45 'quarter turns of the screwdriver' average each side. In fact I used my garage door with some tape to try get them the same lift, right side was more like 50 and the left about 40, but I guessed that it didn't engage properly sometimes. I ended up backing them both off by about 15 as I was getting flashed
. Tbh even in the day I could see it was lighting up signs which felt a little high so no surprise. Really I should have done the proper calibration close + far test (certain amount of m from the car) but I'm going with what I got for now and will fine tune.
Looks like I was wrong about this. Went out to the car tonight and unlocked it and the headlights didn't come on. Headlight switch was in the "On" position. Switched them back to "Auto", locked the car, unlocked again....lights came on. So welcome lights do only work while the switch is in Auto.
This any good?
Front edge of the car is 105cm from the garage door and the height of the light measure in the red circle is 73cm
