I am barely over 1000km in my GR Yaris but one thing I kept noticing ever since the delivery is the handbrake and how it doesn't grab unless I pull really hard on the handbrake. The car even rolled couple of times when I parked in a slight hill. This is not what I am used to from previous cars. I have seen this issue getting mentioned under this post. It is also mentioned that there is a way to adjust this, how would that be?

I am trying to understand why it comes like that from the factory, is there a reason for it? If I was to adjust the handbrake to grab earlier could this have any unwanted side effects?

Thanks!

grips well if it's adjusted correctly, must be done in the rear hub not cable in cabin, it's a regular adjuster that most vehicles use so rear wheel off and screwdriver through adjuster hole , might need watch some videos if not sure or take to local garage
