GR Yaris GRY Run Numbers

Tomorrow the DVLA releases the overdue registration data for 2024, this will give us an understanding of how many Gen2’s were delivered up to the end of the year.

January to March will be released in August
April to June will be released in September

I would not be surprised if it’s around 200 cars. 50 demos, 100 dealer sold cars and 50 ballot.

Mk2 Auto in Precious Metal, VIN 32885, 15/03/2025

& for your records my previous Mk1 Manual in Scarlet Flare, VIN 16734, 05/03/2022 ... now SOLD

Highest yet. So around 6,000 mk2 delivered so far. I wonder if the RallyeShopper is still produced which would amend these numbers slightly lower?
6000 worldwide, less the US?
Is that more or less than you would think? I don't suppose there is a way of finding out how many are UK cars?

107 as of the end of December in the UK of which 67 were auto. Although manuals are a bit harder to work out due to being registered the same as gen1.

I expect this number to double up to March when the data is released next month.

After some digging, I'm pretty confident that the production numbers from VINs don’t account for JDM vehicles. Those are tracked separately using chassis numbers instead of VINs: MXPA12-00XXXXX for the GR RS, and GXPA16-00XXXXX for all the others, as explained here: https://www.gr-zoo.com/threads/grmn-vin-or-model-code-needed.2676/post-122739

Also, I think both VINs and chassis numbers start from 01000 (or 01001), not 00001.

With that in mind, I believe the total number of Gen1 GR Yaris models alone is likely 40k+, instead of the 27.5k (or 26.5k, if starting from 01000) shown by VIN-based data.
