Hello everyone! GR Yaris owner from Mauritius here. Below are a couple of pictures of my Gen.1 GR Yaris RC (JDM lightweight-spec) that was imported from Japan earlier this year. Despite being the RC spec it did come with the premium headlights, aircon, speakers and an aftermarket Panasonic head unit, and on the plus side it does not have all the annoying modern driving aids except for auto start-stop.

The car arrived from Japan equipped with the OEM intercooler water sprayer, Cusco Street Zero-A coilovers and Volk Racing ZE40 forged rims in 18x9.5.

Mods I have done so far, mostly to help the car live with the tropical weather and relatively poor quality of fuel:
  • EcuTek remap (safe map for 95RON fuel)
  • HEL braided brake lines
  • RBF700 brake fluid
  • Funk Motorsport turbo blanket
  • Forge carbon inlet duct
  • STEK PPF on most important areas
  • STEK ceramic coating

Nice car!

I have similar mods, plus an aftermarket intercooler which helps mine a lot in hot Australian weather.

Thank you! I am considering upgrading the intercooler as well. Did you see any noticeable change in lag in daily driving?
No noticeable lag with the Airtec intercooler, it did reduce the severity of heat soak in traffic in hot weather.

Engine bay heat is an issue with this car, just because of the packaging. I now have an ecutek tune, and I can't imagine running that with the stock intercooler.
