GR86 GRogues Chat

ermm... we both agreed that I was defintely the guinea pig as the first order through but I think @my_first_toyota might be picking his up today as well?

Car arrived on 6th but they didn't PDI it until the 12th. I could have had it on 13th but couldn't get over to collect until yesterday.

Flat Battery
All the tyre pressure sensors went off, a drive about didn't fix it so I had to sit and have a coffee whilst they resolved it
I didn't get any of the free stuff like an Issho or Bamboo case which I'm not really bothered about at this point
Realised this morning that no one actually talked me through any details of running the car in or keeping under 4k revs etc.
The Sales chap came in on his day off to do a quick handover but then with the car issues I think ended up just a bit embarrassed about the whole thing.

They had completely left the car as requested though which was something. We took off all the wrapping before I left just to check it all properly.

A day on the CTEK and hopefully we're good to go now!

I'm hoping to see you driving about whilst I wait for my Smurf! (presumably next year now from Jemca Bracknell)

I definitely want to get out and about in it once this cold snap has passed (y) I got a very appreciative thumbs up from an old MR2 owner at some traffic lights on the way home which was a nice change from driving the Porsche :ROFLMAO:

How did you get on taking the wheel covers off, mine were a bit of a pain, still have bits of plastic stuck between the tyre and wheel.

6 months sat in a car park, then lots of starts moving it on off the transporter, around the dealership, in and out of the workshop, the battery will be pretty shot. Us early folk shouldn't expect more than a couple of winters out of the original battery, if they have been sat discharged for a while there is no going back. Mine is going straight on the CTEK when I get it home, it will definitely need conditioning and a decent charge.

Yeah those were a pain in places, they were quite brittle. The rest all came off easily though 👌

Oh wow so pretty smooth 😅 that sounds rubbish!
Hopefully they will learn from it.
I guess at least it sets my expectations that nothing will improve on this delightful journey.

That was my reaction to it all. I'd previously whinged about the whole journey to him so it was easy enough to just laugh it all off on the day.

Got the day off tomorrow so going to start the clean up process!

It would have saved me a lot of money over the years if I did! :ROFLMAO: In my defence, I always wait until they've got a deal on before stocking up :D

I've just noticed that Halfords is having a bit of an offer on AutoFinesse stuff:

For example, the All-in-One Polish is £20 down to £12:

If you're in their Motoring Club (which is free, or paid with discounts), you'll also get a free bottle of Snow Foam (worth £13) with the purchase of any AutoFinesse product:

Hope this helps with cleaning the new motors.

Thank you @drz252

I'm a member of Halfords Motoring Club and I'll call at our local Halfords store tomorrow to take advantage of this offer.

It will be useful for my cosseted F Type, presently residing in a double garage, when she awakens from her winter slumber in March next year.

Great find and a couple of videos from Forensic Detailing outlining benefits of this product:
