GR86 GR86 Finance APR when car was purchased

I financed half of the purchase with a personal loan at 2.9%. The other half is coming from a trade in of my existing car. Felt a bit stupid getting a loan 4+ months before collecting the car, but in retrospect it was probably a wise decision.
Did exactly the same, although only for a third of the total. Knew interest rates were on the rise so I got it as soon as the order was confirmed. At the rate deliveries are going I'll have paid it off before the car even arrives.

Yeh I’m looking now and sainsburys was 8.9% . I wish I had sorted it 2 months ago but a bit risky as I wasn’t sure if the car would be delayed or possibly something else .

I may have to go with the Toyota 4.9% Finance deal now.

If I do go the finance route rather than pay cash, would it hinder me in the unlikely event I sell the car (say in the 1st few months)?

Advice welcome…

Not at all, new owner would just need to clear the finance when buying it. Not many people would expect a new car to be finance free.

That being said if I was to buy a £30k+ car I would always prefer to buy from a dealer who can offer a finance deal, although I imagine they are all pretty rubbish at the moment.

You might get a keen offer (profit for you) from a trader who would be able to buy off you and settle the finance quick and easy.

I was considering buying a Yaris in this exact scenario. The finance faff was slightly off-putting but not a deal breaker.

In the end I bought a slightly older car with more miles and no finance involved, but it was very local and from a dealer so not really comparable.

For what it's worth. I originally said Cash Purchase when ordering the car, but with everything going on 4.9% PCP is not a bad deal at all. I rang to ask if I could switch and was still quoted 4.9% over the phone by Toyota Buying so sounds like they will be honouring it.

Normally to secure the rate, you need to submit the finance application - so if you haven't, it's likely you'll receive the current offering.
I think the rate was 4.9% when the order frenzy took place.
I’ve just taken delivery of a GR Yaris, Toyota honour the original APR as long as a quote was created at the point of order, so I received the 1.9% PCP rate.

The rate was different for the GR86 - in hindsight the low finance deals on the Yaris were probably too good. Different times now of course.
