18x8.5 ET+45 7.9kg various colours

As mentioned, for a 15-person buy in a custom specification, any colour can be chosen, you wouldn’t need all 15 people to agree that. Only Diameter, width and offset. Stud pattern top of course!

This is subject to confirmation from Japan whether I am allowed to get the 17" wheel or not, and find out the subsequent pricing. I'll probably know after Christmas. They were only released in August!

Prices include UK VAT but exclude delivery. International customer can divide the prices by 1.2 to know what their cost in £ would be.

Thanks for setting up @AndyRC. My research is on-going for the time being but these are definitely high on the list, and a discount would definitely help with the biggest sticking point for me

A bit surprised (in a good way) that so far everyone is interested in the 17inch , which if weights are correct would be around a 3.9kg saving over the OEM 18s which I’m sure you would feel the difference on the road

As an FYI, this - in theory - could be combined with sizes or fitments from other vehicles, as the benefit is the saving on the shipping of multiple wheels at the same time in one order.

I'm just waiting to hear back formally about the 17" fitment, but it appears that it WAS offered outside Japan, before production began and they were released, but the timing was off for me to be notified about it.

So, pending confirmation, I feel optimistic that I will be able to bring them to the UK.

Just to update you guys on where things are for the 17” fitment.

As mentioned, the fitment is a 5Zigen exclusive, so I wasn’t sure what the arrangement entailed, if that exclusive was just for Japan or the whole world. I understand now that although I can get hold of them, it would mean paying royalties to 5Zigen and they would be more expensive than they should otherwise be, this is because they paid for all the testing and R&D, and clearly want their investment back.


That being said. I have found out that there is a loophole that can be exploited, which means a 17x8 +38 - 5x100 can be manufactured and brought to market, without needing 15-sets.

If this would be of interest, then I can establish a group-buy thread.

In addition, centre caps have gone through prototype stage, and are now being finalised ready for manufacture.

18's which I'd probably go for. Yes the 17's are lighter but I'd prefer the 18's and it's not exactly heavy.

It’s a pretty small sample at the moment , but from a personal point of view the 17 offers potentially a better ride on the UKs impeccably maintained roads and make the brake discs look more in proportion with the rims

That looks to be in order!

The perspective about ride quality, I understand that, it’s one of the reasons I have stuck with 18” on my daily driver instead of the optional 19”.
