Exactly what happened on my test drive. Was told to take it for a good run!
White is a very strong colour for these!

Sad to hear, but if the ergonomics don't work there's no point making a compromised purchase.

Fair play that you cancelled to put the car back into the pool for the next potential owner, rather than flipping. (y)

That is annoying. At least you have it now, but it probably doesn't help knowing that there was a chance of having the car earlier.

I didn't have one! I tried to order at a Centre and then you mandated that it had to be bought online, only you didn't bloody tell anyone, so I nearly missed out :mad:
 
As a 10.44 order I thought I would send Toyota a mail and ask if there any updates as to when I could expect my car.....and to my complete amazement I got a reply!!!! They anticipate that I will receive it in the first half of this year!! I double checked it wasn't next year!! Hope for the later orders!!
 
Picked up my Smurf Blue 6AT today, handed over in pretty good condition from Reading, spotted a slight sticker line on the boot but it'll rub off fine I imagine.

Initial thoughts, Eyesight is pretty good, follows traffic very well even in the dark. Indicators bonkers but ok, because the quality of the stalks is better than the old car so you get a bit more feel. Also compared to the GT86, I thought the steering had lost a little bit of feel, very smooth but perhaps might understeer slightly when pressing on---see after I have run it in.

Nobody mentioned the headlights that turn with the steering! 😯 I didn't know we were getting those.

Enjoying the auto transmission but like the GT86, the throttle pedal is way too sensitive. I thought they would back it off a little as the new motor has more torque and doesn't need to feel quite so twitchy, but seems not.

For me, 18s are daft on the kind of roads we get in Berkshire. Need more tyre to stop it crashing over the potholes, but I like the suspension. Feels posh, fast bump over sleeping policemen having less damping than cornering roll I reckon.

Think I'll keep it 😁
 
How long after your car was delivered did it take for Toyota online to contact you please?

Been waiting near 2 weeks since it arrived at the dealership and nothing... really want to sell my car as I can get good money for it currently but at the mercy of these clowns.

In my case TOR arranged the handover date/time with me shortly before the car was delivered as it was due to be PDId in the car park. They then contacted me again when the car had left the car park to advise it'd be at the dealer later that day, followed by a further email the day before collection day to confirm the car was ready to go.

Congrats. The Automatic GR86's are still a bit of a rarity so far. It looks like we are approaching 100 cars delivered in total to GR-ZOO forum members so far, and of those, only 4 are automatic! :)

I'm a 10.42 order and gave them a ring yesterday to see where I'm at. Still no build date and they reckoned 5-6 months from build start to me picking it up. They wouldn't be pushed on a time scale just 'hoped' it would be summertime but no guarantees 😪

Hi... not been on here for a while, but can anyone tell me where we are in terms of order times going to build? I'm a 10:56 ,order. TOL told me this week that it looks like a July eta, the previous week it was a March/April eta. As the car is waiting to go to build and will in turn create a stock number ...... so a more accurate eta can be given.
So whatever the eta will be I would really like to know where we're at in terms of what confirmed order time are we up to?

The last time slots to go into build were around 10.30 to 10.40 which left the factory just before xmas, haven't heard of anything else later going into build yet AFAIK, so a July eta for yours doesn't sound to out of the way, IMO.

Earlier orders in '22 had to endure the lengthy time stuck in Derby! Now that situation seems to have been resolved TOL reckon a 6 to 8 week period from going into build to delivery.
