GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Get the car now, you can take it back to have all the bits fitted if/when they arrive!

I've not seen the Petrol Ped review, I've not experienced any moving sideways on straight roads though, I can only assume he had the traction control off or was driving in a way to get dramatic exterior shots. One of the great things about the GR86 is that yes, it will go sideways if you want, but if you're driving normally it's perfectly safe.

My only concern is that the car will sit out in the open in this weather for that much longer. Anyways I won't be driving it on wet roads (as a father of two and now in 40s, that is how my mind thinks nowadays, unlike until a few years ago.. rather embarassing I know)

They've probably already assigned its reg plate, although not registered it, so I would imagine it'd be a faff to delay to get a newer reg. These will be rare enough that the reg won't make any noticeable difference to future value. Driving in the wet/snow/etc - just use your brain and you should be fine. I have no issues taking my M4 out in the wet, I won't worry about the GR86 either. Slippy = more fun & less wear. ;)

I spoke to TOL early December and mine already had a number plate assigned (72) and it arrived yesterday, I guess they could wait till March if the DVLA havent been informed of it.
Not ideal collection part of the year but no salt on the road at the moment just water so I'll get it home asap :)

Its real, I went to see it pre PDI at Sandhurst and you wouldnt know its been sat around since June though the paint in need of some 'wax' and its a bit grubby in general on the outside. Leaving them to PDI and valet it in case of any problems then once home, full decontamination and clean/protect :)

And it is a right knob, multi dimple edition (8 in total on the rear bumper without plate fitted)..

Good news if you ordered a white GR86 and it's showing as being at Cheltenham, they PDI'd your car ready for today, not my silver one.

It's got the wrong number plates on it (they're mine but with a typo so still wrong) but other than that it looked great!

Wow this is incompetency at the highest level. Not only PDI-ing the wrong colour car but misspelling the reg plate?

Perhaps we need to add these to your handover checklist…

Hopefully they get it sorted out for you immediately.

I put it in track mode just out of interest to see the oil temp but then I forgot to switch it back. Suffice to say I won't be doing that again in the wet - it totally caught me off-guard. Maybe this is one for the confessions thread..

I haven't actually turned on track mode yet. Thought I'd wait until break in.
You can see the oil temperature on the normal dash readout though. Put in in the information mode and it's one of the screens (battery voltage and oil tempt). Granted, it's not as accurate though, doesn't give an exact reading like track mode does.

Ok, so that might be it with all the 'goes sideways on roundabouts" and " be very careful driving in wet" talks. Thanks for sharing the honest experience :)

The dealership is very apologetic and trying to rectify quickly, but it's still not exactly enjoyable and joyous - I'd hoped pickup day would be very different to this reality.

Currently messaging work colleagues to rearrange/apologise for meetings I can't now make, and letting the PPF folks know I'll be dropping the car off late. Best laid plans and all that.....
