GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Dear Mutix

I would like to thank you for your reply. We appreciate any updates regarding the whereabouts of Sidney the carrier pigeon.

We have heard more rumours circulating on forums and there is one in particular that has caught our attention.
It has been suggested that Trevor, who is in charge of pest control at our compound in Derby, may have accidentally shot Sidney fearing he was about to add more excrement to the already battered batch of GR86’s. We cannot confirm or deny this at this time until our bosses give permission. We will send out an update on our monthly bulletins.

Kind Regards

Why didnt Toyota switch to electronic mail pigeon, like Hyundai did 10 years ago???
They have higher speed and range...

Wasn’t there a chap that said a couple of weeks ago that they had it on good authority that Toyota GB would be sending out an email update within the next 10 days or something?
Probably closer to the "or something" than the 10 days.

And the "good authority" element? Always a red flag to me!

Hi Guys,

Haven't checked here in a while!

Apparently Belgium, Spain, Italy and Switzerland started to pick up their first cars, what about us?

Or we are third world country now?
A preferred term is developing country, and I shall leave it there as I'm being considerate to you.

Admittedly the email update probably would have said next to nothing knowing Toyota but even still, is it really that much to hope for some comms?

Like that guy who cancelled because he had on "good authority" from someone in Japan about some issue and he wouldn't say what, then disappeared. Unless it's based on facts it's nonsense

Mines been stuck at Portbury for 2 weeks now !
That's how long mine was there for before the app changed status to say it's in Derby, so I don't think it's unusual. At the moment, until they start releasing them to dealers I wouldn't worry if it's sat there or sat in Derby. I'm sure we must be getting close to some cars being released soon, crossing fingers and telling myself that Toyota GB actually would rather start to give some cars out to customers than end up with a car park full of them, if all that's needed is a software update. Maybe they've been sent it on a floppy disk, and are struggling to find an old enough laptop that can still read it...

Not a huge update, but my dealer just called me letting me know that Toyota is releasing some accessories in UK for the GR86, for now it is just the duckbill spoiler, colour coded.
He wanted to know if I wanted to get it added, it is £350, but he wasn't sure if there is any labour charge to get it installed.

He also let me know that this might be limited, because Toyota wants to find out how much interest there is... so might be first come first serve basis.

Anyway, I got mine ordered, I also asked about car delivery, and he still thinks they are all coming on 14th of November

Called my dealer but they said they can't see anything on their side. I do want the spoiler though

My dealer still refuse to acknowledge I exist as a customer. They've not phoned me once.
I really want the ducktail. £350 is OK but if they decide to charge a silly amount for fitting I'll do it myself. Only advantage to getting them to fit is if it's done before collection it will have a full warranty and not just a year.

Seems rare any dealer is in contact/interested in online orders until the car arrives with them. I've asked to move dealers from the default one to a closer and more engaged one that keeps me up dated on a GRY I am not sure Im going to buy now with an 86 pending.

There was something on youtube where someone removed the basic spoiler (seems bolted onto the boot), maybe just as simple to swap for the ducktail
