Admiral tend to have a broad database - they've had my various Alpinas listed each time. My guess the the best indicator that customer deliveries are imminent is went the GR86 begins to appear on the majority of the insurance websites.Toyota do give you 7 days cover to at least get it home. Hopefully by then the big names will have it on the books. It was a problem a friend had when he got his Dacia Duster when they first came out. His insurer at the time (Churchill) couldn't insure it as they didn't have it so he had to insure with whoever Dacia use which did sting him. This year he switched to Admiral who had it by then. I'm with them and only pay £194 on the vRS.
Nah f**k that.I think the Toyota drive away insurance is only 3 days.
I was hoping the car came with Suntory Whiskey...Nah f**k that.
If you remember my proposal above, please find my revised proposal, Version two point zero if you will.
*Nods head appreciatively at applause; accepts high-fives from fellow GR-Zoo-ers*
- Toyota says "sorry" for all the non- and mis-communication to all prospective GR86 buyers.
- Toyota, as recompense, provides
a £500 voucher a year's free insurance for all buyers- Toyota people read this suggestion on here, implement it, and think "that Silver Fox knows what he's talking about" before furnishing me with a handsome consultancy fee.
- GR-Zoo people - yes you good folk - take advantage of this offer and enjoy a year of trouble- and worry-free motoring!
- GR-Zoo people - yes you again - are overcome with gratitude and all of you buy me
some craft beerSuntory Japanese whisky.
No issues for me on my Supra. With Aviva for my celica and switched it to the Supra. Only cost me an extra £50 a year. Considering I had the celica insured for £2500 and the Supra is £50,000 i thought that was pretty good.I wonder if GR Yaris and GR Supra owners have also had issues getting insurance ? - if so, it could be quite interesting/helpful to know who they eventually got cover from.

When the first GR Yaris cars landed with customers back in Nov/Dec 20 most insurers didn't list it.I wonder if GR Yaris and GR Supra owners have also had issues getting insurance ? - if so, it could be quite interesting/helpful to know who they eventually got cover from.
That's my problem I never learn...@Silver Fox looks like your going to get thrown out that boardroom window again...
Mine would be a Hibiki 21 year old pleaseI was hoping the car came with Suntory Whiskey...
Eight quid's worth of plastic - live the dream!Maybe we'll get a free GR86 limited edition keyring to go with the car when it finally arrives![]()
Did the dealer offer you any extras by any chance?Mine is showing sitting in Derby and was ordered at 10:07. Missed a call from my nominated dealer, Steven Eagell Colchester, earlier in the week. Called them beack this morining and was told than my car would be ready for me to collect from them on 11th October. Told to concact Toyota Buy Online to sign finance documentation ahead of collection and mine is the first of the GR86 they are handling, and is the only one showing this "status" on their dealer system.
Can it really be true that I'm less than a fortnight away from getting my car?
When the cars landed in October/November they didn’t list it. By the time deliveries started at end of November beginning of December they were all being listed on comparison sites and I had no issues. When the first GR Yaris cars landed with customers back in Nov/Dec 20 most insurers didn't list it.
A couple of companies I spoke with at the time quoted on cars with similar insurance groups (Audi TT RS from memory).
A couple of weeks later the bigger players Aviva and Direct Line started quoting and then the smaller players followed when databases were updated.
Nice one! That is interesting. I'd much prefer a dealer fitted option. This is the email I got that mentioned spoiler
