GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Toyota will offer you the following as compensation:

Proposed solution:

  1. Toyota says "sorry" for all the non- and mis-communication to all prospective GR86 buyers.
  2. Toyota, as recompense, provides a ยฃ500 voucher for all buyers to use at participating Toyota centres for, say, parts, accessories, servicing, and merchandise.
  3. Toyota makes the ducktail spoiler available as a dealer-fit option for ยฃ499.99.
  4. Toyota agrees to cover the cost of fitting and painting said ducktail spoiler cos they've been divs.
  5. Toyota people read this suggestion on here, implement it, and think "that Silver Fox knows what he's talking about" before furnishing me with a handsome consultancy fee.
  6. GR-Zoo people - yes you good folk - take advantage of this offer and get your ducktails fitted and how lovely they all look.
  7. In the unlikely event you don't want a ducktail spoiler you can spend your ยฃ500 on servicing or other accessories or some ghastly Toyota Sport Rally apparel or whatever.
  8. GR-Zoo people - yes you again - are overcome with gratitude and all of you buy me some craft beer.
*Leans back in chair*
For god sake man, stop talking with such sense and logic.

Spoke to Toyota Online this afternoon just to make contact and to see if there are any developments.
Mines a 10.56 order..... 20th April
He said he'll check as there have been updates bearing in mind that I was told on the 1st August that the eta would be at the end of this year!
Anyway he checked and said that based on my order time that the system now says ETA : April '23 !!!!! but was quick to add that it could be sooner or later than that. I'm happy with that anyway.....
Also I was told that Toyota are honouring the 4.9% that was advertised at the time of ordering. They review this every quarter but Toyota have said it will likely remain at 4.9%.
He did point out that the GFV could alter up or down therefore if GFV goes up the monthly payments will come down and vice versa.
He gave an example of a GR86 on 4.9% over 42 months with a GFV of ยฃ16,470 the monthly payments will be ยฃ319.70 p/mth.

Hope this info helps?
I'm a 10:53 order and was told by Toyota during my welcome call about 2 months ago that delivery would be in early 2024. Are you sure yours said 2023 and not 2024?

The lady at Toyota UK said the cars are being manufactured in batches throughout the 2 years the gr86 is being built for. Anyone in the last 100 orders will be in the last manufacturing run which is ~ Oct/Nov 2023 and will take 3 months from start to delivery. On the plus side I can change the colour without any penalty as there isn't a later build date to move to.

But this was 2 months ago. Hopefully the timeline has improved and I get mine a similar time to yours. April 2023 isn't far away.

Definitely April 2023.... I queried this as I was told on August 1st that it would be towards the end of 2023.
He said there had just been an update on their system and its now April '23 based on the time of my order confirmation ie 10:56 on April 20th this year.

I have had a reply from my ETA query with my nominated supplying dealer:-

โ€˜By the looks of things, your GR86 is at the depot but is on a temporary hold with all other GR86's and by the looks of things has an ETA of November.โ€™

Looks like a waiting gameโ€ฆ

I'll be surprised if there's not another delay before the end of October to be honest.

There must be a point at which they will want to cash in on the cars already in the UK though, hopefully not before they realise they could up the price by 10-20% with the current inflation and exchange rates...

This is my worry, too. The fact that Toyota UK are unable or unwilling to provide an update signals that they don't have a reliable course of action, so it might end up a rolling delay until they do.

I think everyday teh cars stand at the ports will cost them some money...

The "customer relations" person promised me that there would be an update on resolving the top secret issue by the end of September. So not long to wait folks ๐Ÿ˜‚

As usual, he did not say which years September...

4 days left. Toyota Germany told the dealers, that first cars will arrive in September.
That means, that they should be put on a trailer right now latest...

Maybe they just fooled us, and there are no cars at all.
All the GR-story is a big fake by Bill Gates.

All the pictures -> fake
both us Forums -> fake
the videos -> gigantic fake, just to troll us.

Nobody ever saw a car in live and lived to tell it...
