GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Yep same, now Nov, tracking info suggests car arrived in the UK in June, I dont mind waiting for it but like anyone, cars that sit around for months do not fair well, be it not being driven or sat outside without waxes/protection then I cant see how the paint can be of a 'new' car when its sat in the sun/rain/elements for maybe 6 months? The last thing you want to do with your brand new car is have to get the machine polisher out and spend a cold day in Nov/Dec trying to bring the paint back to life. Mine will be silver, but for the red/blue cars I can imagine paint fade could even be a risk!?

Dealer just randomly emailed me to advise he can see that Toyota have estimated my delivery date to be 22/03/2022 🙈🤔

I’m a colour changer so emailed back to confirm that should be 2024?? Don’t expect it any earlier than that.

It’s actually 2023 he can see but he said they are all getting pushed back. Asked if he knows why the cars in U.K. are not being delivered but doubt I’ll hear anything.

I just want to point out, that i was right :D
That you were sir, that you were!

(I'm now wondering if the brand new PM will still be in post when the first UK cars are delivered to us hungry owners...)

10.13 order, silver manual, had the “build in progress” email 22/8 and just checked developer tools - says estimatedDeliveryTFD of 3/11/2022.

So...my 10.04 order, which has been on the boat for just under a month, is estimated to arrive two weeks later than your car which hasn't been built yet.

Mental :D

I was just thinking the same, mine appears to be already on a boat having "Left the Factory" a couple of weeks ago, and doesn't have an ETA until 16th Nov. If nothing else these ETAs are consistently inconsistent.
During my "welcome call" I was told that my car was likely due October, give or take a month, so November isn't that much of a shock to me. If we didn't have access to the hidden dev tools then I'd be none the wiser, so for the moment I'm just holding on and looking forward to what is likely to be my last chance to by a new car of it's kind at a sensible cost.

This is true. The ETA date shouldn't even be visible to us, so it's not "official". However, in lieu of any word from Toyota (apart from the app status), it's all we've got to go on.

If it wasn't for the Dev hack I wouldn't have a clue what was going on. According to Toyota, mine has been on its journey from Portbury to Derby on the back of a transporter for over a month. No courtesy email to update me why that's the case and what is happening. It's disgraceful and just generally terrible customer service, there is no justifiable reason for it. For those that do contact Toyota they just get 'Sorry' ah cheers for that, very insightful and sincere (y)

Yup. All this speculation and ill feeling could be avoided by a universal email "Even if your car has reached the final status, all cars are held until November for <whatever the reason is>, apologies". Not quite sure who is in charge, but surely that's better PR than not saying anything and just saying "sorry!" everyone time another owner sends you an angry tweet.

Here are some people who might be able to help if anyone has Linkedin Premium to message directly? I'd never go to any personal social media of these people but linked in is a business tool and for work related contact. I doubt they use/spent any time on LinkedIn but in lieu of any comms or info then who knows.
Alternatively as the Toyota corporate emails are ending @tgb.toyota.co.uk then maybe a guess of email...

I dont mind waiting for the car, after all I feel lucky to hopefully be getting one, but they hold £1000 of my money and on that basis I feel like I should be told more of what is going on and why the cars are being delayed. No matter what the reason, I am sure everyone would be understanding if they just knew the situation.

Like this quote on his page ;) "We pride ourselves in delivering an exceptional service to consumers. Our purpose is to do business the way customers LOVE."

LinkedIn is more for networking rather than specific business usage. I would expect a response if you emailed corporate email but doubt you will get anything on LinkedIn. If you email TGB, most likely it will be picked up by the PA, then forwarded to the relevant department to respond on their behalf.

99% of what they will receive on LinkedIn will be sales/recruiter messages and I can imagine it getting lost and doubt their PA manages their LinkedIn account too.

If you contact anyone from Toyota via LinkedIn, you'll probably get offered a job as a project manager to sort out this whole mess

Anyone managed to get one to show up on any of the price comparison sites for insurance? Would like to try and get my ducks in a row before my alleged December delivery!
