GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Let's all not forget we shouldn't be looking at Dev tools and Toyota tells us not to rely on the dates there (doesn't stop me looking though)!

Maybe they will stockpile a big load of cars and a bunch of us will get them at the same time.
I've been wondering the same. I imagine they'll be holding back delivery until after people have been given access to try the demo cars. Last I heard (phone car from my dealer a few weeks ago) was that the demo cars we're landing at dealers on 13th July.

First world problem i know - and honestly im not that arsed - just a bit puzzled at the lack of info/comms.
If it bothered me that much, I'd just flip it after taking delivery.

Going by the dev tool trick I will get mine Wednesday :ROFLMAO: I hope I don’t as I would prefer September, but it’s good to know either way so I can plan.

Well post up a picture on Wednesday can't wait to see it! 😂

Maybe yours will drive past mine sitting in Derby as it gathers dust having been in the country over a month.

This makes sense.

I'm sure Toyota don't want people taking delivery and saying they don't like it.

Not that I think that'll happen.

I'm not bothered about a test drive, it'd take the edge off the excitement of driving mine for the first time.

Mine has been at Portbury for a few weeks now. No sign of moving!
* no calls or emails from Toyota
* no calls or emails from dealer
DevTools still says 15th July
That is delivery to Toyota Derby on the 15th not to your nominated dealer. Should be a few weeks after that I’d imagine.

I don't think that's the case. Dev tools said mine would be delivered a couple of weeks into July. It went to Derby a few days ago. That would be about right for the 'dev tools' date being intended to relate to the date it arrives at the dealer wouldn't it?

I think it's safe to say that none of the dates seem to match much at all right now

They don't for sure. Dealer called today saying I'd have my car within the month and have already processed the 3 day insurance etc. Toyota UK on the other hand said 2023 on my welcome call and app hasn't even gone to build. Shambles, but if it turns up this month then what a good surprise

I also received a call from my dealer today, one eyebrow firmly raised as he informed me it was due in at the end of the month..

I'd love that to be true, but everything else seems to suggest otherwise!

I find all of the above really interesting as my experience on the MyT and dealing with Toyota has been relatively vanilla!

Today my app did something wierd though - the circles on the map all went grey but the progress chart showed a red truck transporting a car. I recalled this with my GRY when it was due to be moved for its PDI. Sure enough, using the inspect page trick, the car is showing as in transit to Derby for the PDI.

My car left the factory on May 18th, arrived in Portbury on 21st June and is scheduled to arrive at the dealer on 15th July. Again, similar time frames to the GRY and in line with what TUK have been telling me on the phone. No dramas!

As for the speculation about extra cars being made available, I think that makes sense as 75 demos will be too much for a run of only 430 cars - especially if many owners would have their cars around the same time or before the demos. If I was Toyota, I would have done the same and reduced the demos and free up 70 early cars for customers. If I had to wager, I think the dealers know this and are trying a few tricks - it wouldn't make sense for Toyota to allocate these to orders further down the list as the builds are all the same except for colours. They can easily re-allocate.

I'm a bit cynical though so perhaps some lucky people will get their cars earlier. Good luck to them if they do!

Fingers crossed. I think it'd help everyone for a few customer cars to actually start turning up now!

Yep, completely agree with this. Will give us something tangible to focus on - we can enviously watch on the sidelines until our cars turn up!

I emailed Toyota today, partly to ask if I could instruct the car not to be washed, but also to see if I could get a status update, as the status has been "Processing" for just under 2 months and I hadn't heard any more since. I got a reply telling me that "Our system still indicates an estimated arrival of your vehicle of September 2022 but please note this is an estimate, it can go forward as well as back."

Hopefully that means things are on track and I can expect to see it go into build fairly soon.

That’s promising, my last correspondence with them they basically said they have no idea Lee checking MyT and it could be 2023. I’m a 10:06 order.

Welcome call suggested aug/sept delivery but that’s never been repeated so I have no idea
