GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

I think once we see the early birds actually taking delivery of there cars it should ease some of the uncertainty for the rest of us who are still awaiting the call 🥱
 
Swift Ace docks tomorrow with, hopefully, another batch of cars (mine included). Be interesting to see how long they sit around as my ETA was originally early August but has subsequently been put back to 17 October.

He said this was normal for early cars, and when deliveries start the rest should not experiance this, but of course there is a queue with all the other Toyota's.

Early orders can request to go on the later reg plate if they like.

Mines also been sat around, they said similar to that to me, but prefixed it with as far as they knew they didn’t believe there to be an issue, but weren’t in the loop so to speak etc.

However they were then very vague about any commitment to even a rough future date, which is a liberty in the circumstances and tends to go against a coordinated European launch - which lets be honest isn’t important if they are already sold out everywhere.

That's good news. Did they say if "early bird" covers all cars currently sat at Derby or just the ones that arrived in the UK at the end of May?

Early bird orders refers to those who ordered prior to the official website going live.

This has shown how crap an online only order is. Undermine your dealer network, have absolutely no information for your customers. How can the Toyota big wigs chink glasses about this one and say 'good job'.
 
Looks like mine updated overnight from Portbury to Derbyshire - which means I would have been within a few miles of my car as I'm near the A42 🤘

I tend to agree if this is what the future looks like in terms of buying a car I might not bother with new
The buying experience takes away the initial excitement
Agree all manufacturers have production issues and most of them are pretty poor at interacting with their customers.

Welcome to 2022 big bonuses and cigars for the bosses as the accounts look great as for everyone else …..
