GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Just had a estimated delivery email..

"We anticipate that your new car will be arriving with your chosen Toyota Centre in Late July."

Though, it's still in the processing stage on MyT/Toyota website.

Who knows @Mick .

I had a phone call from Toyota UK in December telling me my car would arrive in 'spring 2023' and then a call from my dealer two weeks later saying it had arrived and could I fetch it please.

I have dug more into the shipping process and apparantely there has been a change in the delivery/transit process. I received the left the factory update when my ship had left from Tahara (Tahara Toyota/Lexus plant apparently?), and not Nagoya (the ship was in Nagoya 1-2 days before Tahara). I was still 100% it is that ship because no other ship fitted the delivery timeframe.

I have asked my dealer to leave everything in the car, which included many stickers in Japanese from the factory. The stickers mention every location the car was transitted at, and there is not a single mention of Nagoya. However every sticker mentioned Tahara Center according to Google Translate.

And those UK orders which received Left the factory update last week must be on the Bosporus highway ship which left Tahara/Toyohashi as well.

I mean... I don't even know why I care lol. It is just super interesting to know and imagine the process your car has been through. I am sure some of you will find it interesting too.

Thanks for this - and agreed, kind of fascinating to follow the journey 🤷‍♂️

My new car arrived yesterday, the original one came with a scratch on the windscreen. Toyota were unable to provide a replacement screen or carry out a repair, so they replaced the car with a cancelled order. I took a photo of them together, will be unlikely to see 2 red ones together again in Scotland.

That's concerning that they'd replace the car, rather than just replace the screen!

Wonder if low number of parts will be an issue for owners in the UK going forward...

The issue was getting supplied with a screen, I’m not sure if an aftermarket company such as auto glass would be able to provide a screen. It came as a complete shock to me that they decided to replace the car, I had found a company that was willing to polish the scratch out but Toyota wouldn’t use a third party company.
Toyota buy online have been brilliant and had good communication regarding the car.

I did offer to keep the other one but that wasn’t an option, the dealership offered to buy the car from Toyota but that wasn’t an option either. Apparently it’s away to be part of the press fleet, which seems strange when there are no more cars available.

Autoglass can't provide replacement screens at the moment. I got a crack on mine on the first day of driving it properly. The fix wasn't satisfactory and i'm still waiting for a replacement screen. 4 weeks now.

This was a genuine concern when I heard the cars were going to be so limited. That's not really what I wanted to sign up to buying a Toyota tbh.

Read this message, went out to get fuel, and have been treated to a nice crater in my own thanks to some t**t in a Mini Cooper driving on the white lines and flinging boulders at me

Hope your replacement comes soon 🤞
