Left that "other" forum as the ads where pretty annoying this morning. Cudos to the people who started this instead and let's hope this remains free from monetizing...
I bought my car to have a fun car during winter and to test TimeAttack as I do a lot of work on race/timeattack/trackday-cars all day long. (I own a tyreshop outside Stockholm that specialized in wheel alignments.)
Took the car up north in Sweden and tested it on ice with spiketyres and realized Toyota did something right here.
Decided to sign me up for a full season in swedish TimeAttacknu.se to learn and watch.
The Yaris turned out to be fast, really fast as I was able to snatch third place at the first race on worn tires and standard chassis but with as much camber a possible.
After that I finally got my MCA Reds with custom valving and springs.
Next race a managed 2 place and was the first car to lap the circuit under 1 min on street-tyres. (Mandatory in my class to be on street-tyres)
The season went on with 1-2 places and in the end I was able to win my class and therefore i was invited down to Nürburgring and the European TimeAttack Masters final...
As I was short of time that weekend a friend drove my car down (1500kms one way) and back.
I arrived on Friday bust in time for Heißen Stein and a few beers.
Saturday was Tourist driving on the Nordschleife. It was 15 year since a last drove here so a I was a small bit nervous but squeezed in 8 laps during the day and managed a 8.27 on street-tyres going pretty safe.
On Sunday it was Reisbrennen and TimeAttack finals at the GP circuit and we tried to makes us comfortable in the pits that oozes Motorsport and racing.
After some tests and qualifying it was time for the finals late afternoon and I finally got a free lap to show these EVOs what a 1.6 3 cylinder Yaris can do.
In the end my time was good enough to secure first place!
What a weekend and a good taste of how fast this little incredible machine is.
The spec of my car right now:
Engine:
Syvecs ECU with flatshift. Max 1.9 bar so maybe 330-340ps?
Mounted just before the trip to Germany. Before that a HKS Power Editor
GruppeM intake (just put in so not in during the Nürburgring trip)
Milltek turboback with sportscat
Interior:
1 Recaro PolePosition
Trackparts.ch mounting bracket
Steering wheel spacer
CAE shifter
Chassi:
MCA Reds with custom valving and springs
Whiteline caster bushing
Endless disks, pads, lines and fluid
9.5x19 et 40 OZ with 245/30-19 (max width in my class)
9.5x18 et 42 with 255 or 265/35-18 Yokohama for trackdays when I can use r-tyres
Exterior:
Go fast wrap for my main sponsor
Full TRD kit and som towhooks
Right now my car is with do88 to develop a new intercooler and oilcooler. They kindly removed my turbo that's now on its way to TTE for some extra power.
Ordered a set of springs and retainers aswell so we can rev without valvefloat.
Phil sold me some titanium shims and a cover for the rear diff.
Ordered a extra Recaro so my passenger dosent fall out of the window.
Will probably order some bushing for trailingarms and rear camber but we'll see.
