Thought of continuing the tradition so opened up a thread for Mk3 GR Yaris.

Opinions, rumours and facts, what it will have?
G20E Engine? Or will they cancel the model and move to MR2 platform?

I'd have hard time deciding on MR2 or Yaris. MR2 likely better on track, on price point it will be close to used Cayman GT4 which is a tough to beat on track.
So all in all, will that mid engine package be that GReat after all?

I can't see them fitting the G20 in the Yaris engine bay. Especially with it currently being tested in the back of one!

I'm hoping for MR2. Its the only new car I'd be interested in (except for the T50 but that's waayyyy too rich for the likes of me!)

To be honest, I really doubt there will be a Mk3 Yaris but would be happy to be proven wrong. And even then I'd be very surprised if it comes with a bigger engine.

Same, with a mid engine car coming somewhere in the future and the GR GT around the corner my take is that they'll keep updating the gen 2 for a couple of years like they're currently doing, then they'll begin phasing it out of markets it won't fit in anymore like they did with the GR86.

This platform is near EOL, whatever Yaris comes next must be being developed with a future GR version in mind from the outset.

You only have to listen to what the engineer (Saito?) said in the recent Hagerty video to know they aren’t done yet.

Will they actually make a crazy rear-engined version, or is that just a mule for a future MR2? Who knows!

If we have a rear engined Yaris coming I am all in.
