38 (36 when I ordered it, and 37 and a half when it was delivered :) )

I've always tinkered with a classic mini, but living and working in the city, had cheap, reliable diesel Yarises. Had to put getting on the property ladder before having a flash modern car. Interest free finance, 10 year warranty, and more WFH after the pandemic meant that it was finally possible to have something a bit more exciting as my daily.

I'm 58, bought it for what it is : a GReat Toy to enjoy as much as possible. As a second car, it replaced my "old" 2007 Impreza WRX which was replaced by a 2012 STi... which I didn't like and sold after 8 months... replaced by nothing... thinking about Lotus Elise / Exige, Alfa 4C or Alpine A110... and then the GR came out with all the buzz it kicked up. Even up to here in France one could hear about it. Didn't even think twice, Nov 30th 2020 called the nearest GR dealer, he said he was getting a show car a few days later. Went there 1 week later, sat in it, found myself "at home". Went for a bit of a drive (it was brand new only 200km or so, nothing above 4000RPM) and even without being able "to push" the feeling was GReat. Went home, and a couple of days later Dec 14th, paid deposit and confirmed the order. Then started the looooong cruel wait till May 27th 2021... but so intensely happy about it, no second thought about a second hand Alfa 4C, Lotus or even an Alpine...

It feels like I was 21 when I ordered mine

I am 55. Always loved hot hatch type cars and being into motorsport always wanted a rally inspired car but never got round to it. Now our boy is 18 and off to university in September , the wife says “ you can have one as long as it’s red , so being a dutiful husband I obeyed 😉

Just 58 - hence fitting 17" wheels to calm the harsh ride. It has replaced my Boxster but I'm still not sure it was the right move.

I feel like a toddler in comparison. 😂 I'm 24.I've been obsessed with Rally ever since my dad showed me Group B footage when I was 11.

58. FINALLY a proper homologation special.

I’ve considered many quick hatches/saloons over the years but nothing except a 20V Quattro or an E36 M3 (purely for the sound of that engine) felt interesting enough. Too compromised. Kids and finances precluded getting either of those at the time and TBH I became disillusioned with affordable fast road cars. However, out of the blue this beauty arrives, I can afford it and no longer need to get the kids in the back! Honestly thought this type of car would never be made again and I can see why a lot of folks from my generation have bought them.

Very happy.

I'm going to lower the average too! 27 here, gonna spend a huge chunk of money (for me) on this beauty. My current fun car is an 2005 NB MX-5 which I'll keep, a fun "slow" RWD car as yuxtaposition to this little performance devil.

I’m 29 but, was 28 when I got the car. I knew I wanted this car before it was even a concept. I missed out on the Evo , STI, Focus RS etc. Always liked rally since a kid.

I got over the “more power” thing and decided on fun over fast pretty early on

61. Had fast cars all my adult life, mostly hot hatches but latterly the E46 M3 I had always promised myself when I retired. It was everything I hoped it would be…but the GR pisses all over it 😄

For those who still like cars, I would guess they're more likely to care about something German.
Uhm I do care about cars. But I tried so many cars, so many German ones, but to be honest the Japanese made my day. Every German car I drove felt numb an dull. To much premium bla bla and no real soul in the drive train. And that's while beeing german.

Btw, I am 28. By the time I get the GRY I am probably beyond 30. 🤣 I'm coming from a car I choosed because I wanted to tick all boxes. Compact but big enough, efficient but strong, all wheel drive, good beams, so useless technology, safe and long lasting. There was na japanese opt6 soI ended with a Volvo V40 CC (love sweden). While beeing the perfect car for all that demands, I realised that this was not really MY demand but the things I thought should be. The car is great but drive train and suspension is really lacking. So I was like well start over again. I want something special that just makes me smile driving it. 😉
