GR Corolla GR Corolla 1475KG

But each manufacturer gets their own limit based on the type of vehicles they make.

If you only make small cars then you have a much lower fleet limit than if you only make HGVs, otherwise it wouldn't be fair.

Toyota might have the lowest actual average, but also a cripplingly low limit too, as they only really sell passenger cars in EU, but nearly everyone else sells vans. I could be wrong, as I cannot find any exact limits set for each manufacturer.

It seems unlikely that they couldn't find space to fit a GPF...
With the move to BEV starting imminently, bZ4X etc, by the time we would see a GRC in Europe I doubt it would screw the CO2 fleet average Significantly. Toyota may or may not come clean on their plans for the GRC in Europe, which may be as simple as its just too much hassle getting it legal in Europe for relatively small numbers 🤔

It's a bit heavy this one but looks great. We can be jealous of the Americans for a change.

Could be red tape such as all European market Corollas are built in Derby.
It will be interesting to see what Toyota come out with as to what its plans for the GRC in Europe are , if any , and if it’s not going on sale why not? I’m fully expecting the Toyota in depth response of “We have no information on this model at this time , please keep checking our website” 🤷‍♂️

This is exactly what I predicted it would weigh (+ 200 kg). It’s a much bigger car and lacks the aluminium bonnet and doors. So that’s four steel doors instead of two aluminium ones. But it’s still lighter than most of its competition /equivalents.

I think it’s going to be incredibly popular in the US, particularly the northern states that get proper snow in the winter.

The bonnet is aluminium, for both core and circuit models.

It's a bit heavier than I anticipated but still much lighter than any other car in its class (100+ kg difference)

Well I know it didn't do anything for North America for the GRY but I've started a petition

With the GRY, North America still have the possibility to import but with no right hand drive for the GRC we can't even import it.

Great idea, but why not entire Europe? Or all markets? Really man there is more than your rock. :D

BTW why not import a left hand? A friend of mine owned a JDM integra type R that was right hand and drove it in Germany. So why not import a US GRC to UK. It's up to will and effort.

GRC will be sold RHD in JDM and AUS market at least...

You're right, petition has been updated for all of Europe.

Never able to get used to left hand drive. Always feels "wrong" to me and it's not something I can get used to. And left to right hand drive conversions are expensive and not looking to experiment like that with the GRC.

All the motoring press have regurgitated the comment from “someone“ in Toyota about the “power of three” and “Toyota only like to sell 3 GR models in any market” . Well until now Toyota have only had 3 🤷‍♂️ They will only have two GR models (possibly one) in Europe by the time the US and JDM markets have had a decent supply of GRCs. I’m guessing it was a comment made up on the go to try and explain something the “Toyota person” didn’t actually have an accurate answer to, and it’s now become “fact”🤔

It is ”fact” that the GRC won’t be coming to Europe “Now” , the US guy who did the launch said “don’t worry it’s coming to other markets after the US” , even JDM aren’t getting it first. Let’s see what happens in 12/18 months time 🤔

There is already a larger petition on the started by pistonheads so rather than split the vote it is best to vote on that one. There are a lot more readers over there.

Didn't know of that one, I'll suspend mine and merge the effort.

Lol I did say it was coming here. Lands Q4 '22.

The whole '3 GRs' thing is a USA bit of journo licence (BS to work with the recent video advert?).

Toyota wont limit GRs, why on earth would they? they have about 47 GR-Sport models lol.

It was initially 3-4/4 22 here for the GRC now 1/4 23

I'm betting the HP increase is partly due to no GPF in the exhaust as it isn't necessary except in Europe ?

So it won't be going to Europe

But the first GR BEV sports car will be launched in Europe because we can’t get, or afford, petrol 🤣

Wonder if they thought be because it’s manual people won’t buy it or because it need a GPF it wouldn’t be competitive in terms of pub talk thus would fail.

Maybe they planned this before the Yaris took off? The GFV of my car is circa £15,000 Toyota obviously weren’t feeling too confident about the Yaris.😬

Or maybe they think the market is already full with the Yaris , I’d no one would want a Corrolla after a Yaris. Or maybe they don’t want piss off the Yaris owner with a newer model 🤣

Well to Toyota I say “piss me off” I want to see more interesting vehicles on the road not less! 😂😅
