You're not the only one.

Since others may assume that I'm signaling to them, when it's actually just the auto-lights feature doing its thing, I've turned it off completely.

Despite what the Highway Code specifies, in practice flashing the headlights is also used to communicate things other than danger. So, I can't risk others thinking that eg I'm inviting then to merge in, when I'm not.
 
I believe in Carista I saw a seeting for the sensitivy

Got to agree the term coasting with no gear engaged is not how you are supposed to drive. It's not fuel efficient either.

Keep it in gear at 0 mph and you stall, lol.

I get it, depress the clutch. But for the few metres up to a traffic light it just doesn't matter. The stuff about coasting in the highway code/theory test is for coasting while travelling.

If you take the car out of gear whilst still moving you will fail your driving test. I am an examiner for the IAM and it's a no no.

As you will if you brake into a corner, perform handbrake turns, drop the clutch onto a revving engine, speed, flash your lights to let someone out, honk in disapproval, wait at traffic lights without the handbrake, or do a u-turn using a junction going forwards. I'm not taking my driving test, I don't drive like I'm taking my driving test.
 
During his test one of my son's mates was asked what speed would you do along here? He said 100. The examiner said it is an 80 zone, son's mate replied you asked what speed I would do not what the posted limit was.

He didn't pass.

How did you manage to turn off the auto-lights feature completely?

OK, so you meant the auto high beam feature? I thought you found a way to disable the automatic headlights stuff where it switches between daytime running lights and the normal headlights.

You're right and sorry about the confusion. I'm a bit biased, as my issue is all about the auto high beam feature.

I don't mind the feature that automatically switches from daylights when darker, as I have my normal headlights on whenever I drive, day or night.

Ive passed once and failed after that when driving a test for trailer with brakes. In that failed test there was a quality guy assessing the teacher so maybe tighter than normal but failed in few places so fair deal. Got the trailer lic eventually too..

In the UK, we didn't have trailer tests when I took mine, so got it automatically with the car licence. :)
