It's been posted on some of the other GR related forums, but check your fuel lines for rubbing. I'm coming up to 20,000 miles and it's present on one of the lines on my car. At a guess it may be rubbing on the bonnet liner.

This isn't an isolated issue as there have been multiple instances shared elsewhere. It seems to be an issue on cars manufactered from 23-25

The line to check is on the passenger side of the engine bay, shown below.

I've got my car in for a service on Friday, so I'll raise the issue then and report back.

A few more from different cars

Mine has similar marks with just under 12k mikes. Can’t see anything under the bonnet that it would be rubbing on, and no corresponding marks on the bonnet lining. It is also marked close to the black plastic clip and on the side (like on the 5th photo above) and there is nothing next to it that could reach it and cause that mark. Looks to me like a manufacturing defect on this part.

Interesting. Are you able to post a closer photo of the wear at the clip?

There's a more solid pipe inside so it would take a lot of wear to actually cause a leak if it is actively rubbing.

I did wonder if it was a case of it being done during manufacturing/installation process but the wear amount across most of the photos does seem to be a little different. It could be a clamp used when they fit the end connectors. It does look like there may be some wear, albeit less severe, on the other side but it's hard to tell.

Easy tell-tale would be to wrap some masking tape around the hose at the "rubbing" location and see if there are marks on the tape a while later; no marks = no rubbing.

FWIW, as another data point. photos from my car. No wear marks. I did remove the hood liner since day 1 (i not claiming its the cause, just stating facts). 2022 JDM GR86 RC. VIN ZN80006569. Probably a series A or B. Mileage ~50,000km.

Thanks for sharing @Cubone quite an important observation so I've made it a sticky. My '22 car with 15k has signs of rubbing on the fuel line.

I can see a recall on the horizon!

I too have found signs of possible rubbing, with a 5mm long shallow 'divot' on the pipe where it arcs around. Can't see any marks on bonnet liner, but I've taped a small piece of paper towel over the pipe to see if that wears away.

Toyota acknowledged that there was some "chafing" and put some foam on the hose to protect and give something to monitor. Which is great, except they've put it on the wrong one.

I'll get something similar to put over it to
do the same thing.
From what they said it doesn't sound like they've heard about this before, so at least they're somewhat aware about it now, whether it's moving or it's a manufacturing issue.

I laughed out loud after reading your first paragraph.
