GR Yaris Front Bumper "Lip" - hairline cracks in paint?

Hi all,

I was washing my car today, and noticed I have long hairline cracks in my paint on both sides of my front bumper?

What it almost looks like is the paint is cracking along a fault / almost like the "lip" on the front bumper is a 2nd piece and the pain is cracking along the join?

You can see it's on both ends and almost in exactly the same place?

I haven't been in any accidents - but I am the 2nd owner though so I don't know what happened before.

My car still under warranty but not sure if this would be a valid claim?

Anyone else seen it?
 
You sure you don't have PPF on the front? Pretty poor install in that case, but looks a bit like the edges of the film

I thought it was ppf too while washing it - maybe some installed from the previous owner - but yeah confirmed not ppf - definitely cracks in paint.
 
For the record, removing PPF stresses the paint and often leads to cracks or other damage. It honestly looks like there was PPF on there before, even if it's definitely not on now.

That said, Toyota paint these days is notoriously thin and cheap, so it's not surprising if the front just cracked on its own.
 
Might be embedded dirt where the "installer" cut to apply the PPF with a knife. The other damage might be just a clueless driver who reserved slightly in your car or even a small parking impact on your own which you didnt notice at all. As mentioned the GR is build quite poor or ligthweight as we try to convince ourselfs. :D
 
I'm convinced that there's still PPF on that car. You may find that the 'cracks' are actually just where the PPF has been stretched. They shouldn't really be cutting on the car as they'd have used a template machine/ plotter, that cuts to design before being applied.

Yep it’s far too uniform for anything other than that.

I promise there is no ppf :)

I can't say if it had it before or not but definitely no ppf.

Zooming in on one of my images you can see the cracks:

Fair enough, but why is the dirt on the car so different above and below the line? The cracks could be entirely unlrelated to the other marks and due to low impact. Have you tried to polish out the lines?
