GR Yaris Finally, 23 months later….it’s here!,,

What a journey, Today a brand new GR Yaris arrived at my home for my ownership.

Not quite what I ordered but any GRY is better than NO GRY…… after a lot of complications due to the original franchise dealership doing dodgy things ( ie sold my car to someone else )the car should have been Platinum Pearl White, instead it is Precious Black, my least favourite colour, but I have to say now it’s in my posession I quite like the Black, plus once behind the wheel I don’t see the colour,

Most enjoyable drive home from work i’v had in the last two years, even if it is only 5 miles through town traffic

Congrats! Black is nice colour, especially in real life. Best colour choice is difficult topic, couldnt decide it even i’ve had the car for 1.5yrs

Thanks all for the kind words

No major mods planned ( remap, suspension etc.) just a few bits and bobs, I like the oem+ route, so am looking at the TGR strut brace and cooling engine cover then a couple of styling accessories (footrest and sunglasses holder)
Would love the MT Carbon rear wing but that’s a bit over my budget , plus if I was spending that sort of money I would prefer something that replaced the factory tailgate spoiler, rather than bonded too it..

Don’t get me wrong, black looks lovely as a colour but what I mean by least favourite is due to the nature of my job I can spot any body blemish/ fault at 50 paces where as white, especially Pearl is very forgiving…. Plus nobody is paying me to rectify my own car
Just have to stop looking at it ( which is hard) so much

It sounds like you had a hellish experience. Most of us have had to wait a long time for our cars with little feedback from Toyota or the dealerships. But to find out your original order had been sold to someone else that's just unbelievable. Most important thing is you now have a very special little motor.
