Have you bought 2 of them just to be sure?

Back to ESE…
I’ve never had ESE in a car but find the idea of it rather odd. Personally I’m not interested in adding more ‘sound/noise’ for the sake of it and I’m just not sure why Toyotas engineers thought it necessary either?
Everything else about the GRY seems so genuine and mechanically on point. I could be wrong but, ESE outwardly feels like it’s trying to make up for something that is inherently lacking in the car? I guess that is why so many have replaced exhausts, intakes etc.
But I’m going to do as a number of you have suggested and try it with the ESE on and if I don’t get on with it then I’ll get it turned off.
Thanks for the advice everyone.
damn.... I speed read the multiple posts above and then without any assistance mixed the two into one button that cancels out everythingThere's two systems, I think you're getting the two confused between @Yaris San ?
There's a faked engine tone, and the active noise cancelling which you appear to be talking about?
Exactly this. I also wonder whether, if it wasn’t well known that the engine noise is enhanced, most people would realise? The original testers from Car magazine didn’t, and I have had to point it out to many passengers, not one of whom realised. I think it sounds fab inside the car.I like the fake noise and the fact that outside , the exhaust noise is quiet. I’m getting old so loud exhausts are not for me anymore .
Totally agree . I think it helps the car not get too much attention imo . Having had a few Abarth Competizione when younger , with the awesome but loud record Monza exhaust , the relative “ stealth mode “ of the GRY suits me fine .Exactly this. ... and without it, it more or less sounds the same just lower volume and is still enjoyable imho.Exactly this. The ESE is just a dreadful blare, turned it off within a few days and never even thought about re-enabling it.
. Also coming from a Megane with Cup pack,
This is how I thought about the different packs. I also had a Megane with a cup pack which is a similar specification upgrade to the Circuit Pack.
If I hadn't been told in the reviews that there was augmented noise in the car, I wouldn't have known.Exactly this.
