GR Yaris Email waiting list

Hey all wonder if you can help me with something. Signed up to the GR Yaris waiting list September 21. Since then I have spoken to a customer relations rep who tells me the waiting list will be for 2023 delivery and beyond. Looking through this forum it appears there are people who have ordered through a dealer in September 2021 onwards and are completing orders and getting delivery dates. Has anyone on the waiting list got an email yet or are dealership orders prioritised? Thanks in advance.

Apart from the email telling me I was on the waiting list (october 21) I've heard nothing.

I do have a car now though - bought ex dem

Quite what I'll do if/when I get to the front of the waiting list, I'm not sure

This site is international and different countries had different demand and allocations. Some of those ordering in September could be in other countries as they were still able to be ordered.

No one has yet been contacted from the email list for 2023 and beyond (if at all)

I put down my order and got scheduled arrival date September 2022. Will see. Germany btw.

Hi, can you explain how things will change? ie is it 'end of production' or 'a better system with more cars'?

They were referring to the increase of price tag. He told me the allocations were nearly out and toyota raised the prices in Germany from 37.700 to 38.500. I asked if it will run out of production and he just said. Most likely. But you know, a dealer wants to deal right? So I took the information with care.

I think the only way forward would be to buy a used one. The prices are coming down a bit in the UK with used ones around the price of new on Autotrader.

Not sure prices are coming down particularly - only ones around list price are a year or so old with a few mile. No official Confirmation but it appears last UK cars are being delivered in the next few months.

There have been no new orders since last July here with the waiting list mopping up a small number of cancelled orders.

The waiting list has a lot of names on it but I suspect very few will end up with a car, hence it seems to have been withdrawn now.

The wait list was removed from the Toyota website quite a few weeks ago. A number of individuals received an email advising them what number they are on the wait list but most (including me) got the email without a number which would indicate I have very little chance of getting one new.

I wouldn’t bother speaking to a dealer either as they know as much / as little as the rest of us, sadly it’s just a matter of waiting for an official announcement.

If you are ready to buy one now it might be worth phoning around dealers to see if they have any cancellations. I know a few on the Facebook group that have secured them this way.
