Hi guys, not really a proper review as such but just wanted to say how impressed I am with the EBC two-piece discs, EBC RP-1 pads and even more so with their RP-X pads.

Full disclosure, I got the RP-X pads and two-piece discs for free from @EBC Brakes but writing a review of any kind was not part of it.

I bought some RP-1 pads after Deano's write up and on track they were great when hot, but on the road (where you're not supposed to use them in fairness) I found that they lacked bite when cold. I got zero fade on track and they lasted a good few track days so I was fine with that compromise.

I fitted the RP-X pads a month or two ago along with a pair of their discs and did a fitting video for Tegiwa's YouTube channel. I immediately found that the cold bite is much much better. They are a dusty and noisy pad (sometimes giving a horrible squeal) but other than that seem perfectly fine to use on the road (other than not being certified for it), but I hadn't used them in anger until a couple of weeks ago. I had a track day on the 13th at Donington Park, chasing round Tegiwa's new FL5 Civic Type R with Luke on board, so working the car pretty hard to keep up in 28-30 degree temps. After a few hot laps the brand new AR-1 tyres were overheating, the oil was hitting 140 degrees but the brakes stayed as firm as when I first left the pits. Mega impressed with that.

So if you're looking for a track day pad/disc combo, they're well worth the money. Only downsides are a bit more dust and the noise. My Yaris is my daily car and it doesn't bother me.
