Forum Event Drive Limits Tuesday 10/5/22

I'm interested but my concern is that some over-enthusiastic GR driver crashes into my car through no fault of my own. For this particular event is this feasible or is the set up such that this wouldn't happen?

Good question - it's a very controlled and organised day.

Drivers wait their turn in a queue and are only told to start when Mark or Graham tell you to go - and that's when the previous car has cleared the task.
At times you may proceed in a group at slow speeds to learn a layout, but the speed is managed by Mark.

When you do a timed circuit later in the day, other cars will be nowhere near you when you start your attempts.

Hope that helps!

Hi, I did the Drive Limits day a few months back. I genuinely loved it and would recommend it without a doubt.

From my experience, there is very little chance of another driver hitting you. The training and active driving is only ever - 1 car at a time. You alone use the circuit with/ without Mark in your car. Once you finish, you exit and join the queue of other cars waiting.

On my day, all the other drivers were sensible and considerate - I never felt my car (or I) were at risk.

I hope this helps,
J

impossible to happen, only one car time on experiance circuit

I sent Mark an email earlier today with the news I have to pull out of tomorrow's session unfortunately. Unforeseen reasons mean I won't be able to go. I hope those that do make it have a great day!

Shame you won’t be able to make it tomorrow 😕, looking forward to meeting up with everyone else there ☺️👍🏻

See you chaps in the morning. I'll be driving down from Yorkshire so going to be a long day of driving.
But at least it'll be spent in a GR!

Hello there ! I’m the one sitting at the track exit was wondering how I can find out more about this event for next time ?
Hi Ollie,

We'll have a chat with @Mark Drivelimits and gauge feedback from the group to see when we do another.

Previous events have all been over-subscribed, but sadly today's wasn't - with 8 and not 12 cars in attendance. Our 4 driver day event was postponed with no bookings, even though plenty asked for a smaller group.

Happy to organise them, but they need to sell out for Drive Limits to cover costs - as a forum we don't profit from the event, but we also don't want Drive Limits to make a loss on our behalf.

Chris

Hi Chris, was lovely being there to speak to other owners. I’ll keep an eye out for the next one. I presume it’ll be advertised on here ?

Yes, the date will be published on the Drive Limits website, but you'll need to visit the forum for the finer details and password to book.

Superb day! Perfect weather conditions, wet for the high speed turns but then dried up in the afternoon for the track.
First time driving the GR in sport mode with everything fully off (had a few spins) but got the hang off it in the end.
A brilliant day and will definitely go again. And was nice to meet you chaps who attended.

Loved it. First time I've explored the limits of my GRY. I was experimenting with the 3 modes (Normal, Track, Sport) and the 3 Traction Control Settings (All On, Expert, All Off); so total of 9 different combinations and could for the first time properly FEEL the differences with the handling and required control. I most valued learning about how to feel oversteer first through the steering wheel just starting to unwind and how to control through the steering. For a future session I would want to be taught more about controlling the oversteer also with the accelerator / brakes / clutch. If you're interested in learning how to better control your car I would 100% recommend

I echo earlier comments. Great day out. Even as a naturally cautious driver of little skill I got a great deal out of the day. Biggest lesson was whilst my steering technique would meet IAM approval, it was far too slow to catch a spin in the GRY early enough to save it. I had to change my technique which was a challenge but assisted by the superb coaching provided by Mark, I just about managed it.

Message to the forum is this is not just a day for ‘expert’ or even very good drivers. If somebody of my very limited skills and relatively poor hand eye coordination can benefit, then anybody can. Great instruction in a really safe environment and brilliant fun.

Thanks for your feedback on yesterday's event - great to see people enjoying the day and learning new skills to get more from your cars.
We'll have a chat with @Mark Drivelimits to see when we can do another GR-Zoo day. (y)
