GR86 Colour change for wheels

Picking my wheels up next week which are currently being re coloured. Have also gone for Shadow chrome powder coat, and going on a silver 86.
Will post some before and after pic next week
Would be interested to see this 😁

After deciding I really didn't like the black wheels just picked mine up from a wheel & brake caliper colour change, I'm really pleased I think it looks great so much better than the dull black, but let me know what you think..

Like that a lot. Really suits the car. Classy.

This looks a good colour for the Ice Silver... Gunmetal Grey, though I have no plans to consider it myself (until I get sick of the black wheels looking grubby)

C’mon people white with black wheels is the best combo. 😎
Black wheels with white does look good. Most colour choices look better with silver IMO (although silver also works with black). Although I think Electric Blue looks better with gold

Thanks, they have been sprayed but the wheels were acid dipped to remove the original paint first, wheels cost just under £500 & are refinished in shadow chrome rather than plain silver which would have been a bit cheaper
Well they look good. But:

1) Wouldn't it have been cheaper to sell the black wheels and buy some silver ones?
2) Will the quality of the finish be as long lasting as if you'd bought silver wheels?

Blue and gold is so iconic to Impreza’s I’m never sure it really works on anything else.

Agree silver always looks good on a blue car or gunmetal grey on a dark blue.

I had an Impreza in dark blue and I had no intention of putting gold wheels on it. It came with silver, and I later put gunmetal on.

I just like the look of gold or bronze on the light blue 86.

Those OEM Calipers have come out very nicely in that Blue! I’m still undecided between Blue or Yellow (it’ll be on a Grey car).

Not sure about the wheel colour personally, as the car has lots of other black bits but fair play and each to their own!

Do you have any close ups of the calipers?

I agree silver/gun metal definitely looks great on blue, especially World Rally blue. I saw this in the US last year and it looked great in the sunshine. The owner saw me checking it out and came out and opened it for me and chatted away, would have loved this colour/wheel combo to have been available here.

Yes, I could have sold the black wheels & bought silver ones not too sure I would have saved any money but I like the factory wheels just didn't like the colour & wanted to keep them, as for the quality of finish I have used the company before & know the work is good quality, they give a 4 year guarantee.

I thought all wheels were electro static / powder coated.

Simple paint is too weak for the wear, isn’t it?
