Hi guys,
Had my GR for about 6 weeks now and have noticed that the clutch is very high. Literally bites at about 90% of total pedal travel. This can't be normal for such a new vehicle? Anyone else have clutch issues with their cars? Would a new clutch be covered under warranty? Car has covered 20k miles.

Totally normal, it’s why launching often gave a bad smell for a lot of people. You got to get the clutch out quickly. Avoid trailing the clutch when setting off. I had the same issue and a number of us experienced it in new cars. I was used to slipping the clutch to avoid wheel spin in FWD cars or tall first gears on motorcycles.

I assume it’s to make the clutch light and usable but still transmit power

The scarlet cp I tested way back in april 21 already had a noisy thrust bearing.

My clutch bite is also high, quirk of the car.

All reassuring, Thanks. Booking it in for recall and was going to mention the clutch too. Happy days.

20,000 miles - wow, that's one of the highest milage GR's out there! Let's hope it had "one careful owner" prior to you 😉
All motorway I believe... And told never tracked. Apart from the first 2 track days I did as soon as I bought it haha. Mileage is not really an issue for me as its only a weekend toy so doubt I'd cover many miles. Just out of interest, Is there many GR's with more Mileage?

Good to hear about this. Parking is an issue over here sadly, only place available is one of those 60es underground car parks that's a) super narrow b) comes with a steep incline to reach street level. Think Elite computer game exiting the 'mail slot' in a too large ship ;). Had the clutch smell a couple of times as a result and felt like a 'stick shift' noob... Will pay a bit more attention next time...

I see Elite Dangerous reference, I hit like.

I am a simple Imperial Cutter guy after all.

Oh that boost sound when flying through the mail slot with over 400 m/s 🤣

Sorry for off topic, got some nostalgia vibes.

Love the reference. I'm in the same boat as him. Except my parking spot is a tiny cubicle probably made to fit Trabants and Wartburgs, I feel like trying to dock a Beluga Liner instead.

Kinda worried about my throw out bearings reading this, because I have to keep "riding the clutch" for like a minute before I maneuver into my cubicle. 😳

o7 fellow commanders -- Team Cutter as well! Haven't played in a while but with a long cold winter ahead that might change ;). And while riding the clutch a bit longer than ideal isn't nice -- at least we don't get lasered to bits for taking things slow :).

Allright. Back to clutch topics?

You all take care!
