Hello everybody,

Happy owner of a 11000kms Yaris gr track 2023.
I had the car serviced after 8 months with all transmission fluids changed as well as the engine oil.
I have now a noise while turning, quickly or slowly.
The noise is heard at low speed, but more at high speed.
The clic clic seems to be proportionnal to the speed, and is present only while turning, accellerating or not, and is present as well while low breaking in the curve.
I braught it to Toyota dealer because of this, they tested the car and told me it is a normal sound, because of the floating brakes.
I am car valet and drove few yaris gr, at least 5, and I never heard this sound.
Strangely, I can remember to hear it only on quite olds Bentley continental GT and bad maintained porsches.
I didn't used the car on track, only mountain roads, never gravel roads.
I am not happy with the answer of Toyota, does anyone has any clue about this strange and annoying sound?
Thank you

Not 100% but could this be a bad CV joint? Seems to be unlikely for a car with such low miles but it’s not impossible that it could’ve become defective. Can you identify if it’s coming from the left/right hand side of the car?

As workpermit mentioned it maybe a CV joint. Typically the test for a CV would be to drive full lock in a car park or some where with plenty of room. The tighter the lock the more the more noise. Saying that you should not have a faulty CV at 11,000kms. Sometimes the grease boot can fail and all the grease gets flung out and then the CV will fail in a short time. Makes lots of noise too.
If its happened just after a service I would question what spec oil went in the Trans case and Diff. The diff side gears spin when turning. These are a bevel type gear.

Thank you for your replies! Sorry for the Silly question but I'm not english speaking native, what is the full word for CV joint?
I will have a look at the bill and tell you which fluid was used for the oil change.

And I did the service at 8000mkms with 8 months, now the car is 13 months

It's full name is a constant velocity joint.

It comes from both sides equally!
If you’re certain of this & the clicking is central, I’m leaning towards the front differential possibly being the culprit.

I know of at least one GRY owner (can’t remember who) on here who has had their front differential replaced under warranty. Hopefully they could chime in if they see this thread.

It may well be that the wrong oil was used as the Torsen diff requires a particular oil that has friction modifiers to suppress differential related noises

Thank you for all your anwers and clarification about the constant velocity joint! I had a quick check underneath the car and visually everything seems to be fine, no Grease or leak. (At least)
About the oil used, I checked on the bill, and the oils used for the service 3mkms ago was LT SAE 75w
I have a mention about Satco, changing transfert box oil (but without any oil reference)
Lv 75w Mt gear oil for the gearbox
And gear oil lx 75w85

Thank you again for your help. Tomorrow I will call again Toyota, try to be heard properly, otherwise I will have to start send angry emails and letters unfortunately

I drove the car today and for me I'm less and less convinced about a break noise, you will be right with the CV joint I'm sure. The noise is not coming central from underneath the car but more likely from the inside of the whell, both sides as said
Thank you again

@kayou Did you ever diagnose this? My left CV joint seems to be making a noise so it's going in tomorrow for an inspection. My car is about 51,000 km now
