Benvenuto!

Thanks for joining the Zoo, its always good to see fellow Europeans join the forum. The GR86 must also be a rare sight in Italy, how many were sold in your country?

Thank you!

As far as I know, Toyota sold about 300 GR86s per year in my country during 2022, 2023, and 2024. So I estimate that fewer than 1,000 GR86s were registered in Italy, and all were sold in a matter of days after the orders opened at Toyota dealers. A few more were imported here from Germany, but I know for a fact that Toyota offered very limited availability in this region. For example, I know that in the United Kingdom, when orders opened about four years ago, the entire year’s supply was reserved in less than 48 hours.

Then, in 2024, some absurd EU regulations regarding ADAS were enacted, and Toyota/Subaru had to halt sales entirely because making the required modifications to maintain type approval didn’t make sense for them; so yes, it’s a pretty rare car to see.. :giggle:

Ciao
Did they also offer any upgrades? In spain they offered the trd brakes for example.

It was sold in Sport and Premium version (usual difference in 17 vs 18 wheels, premium interior, ducktail spoiler), but i don't think there was the option for trd brakes.
