I've posted a thread about chance and probability before, concerning the serendipitous collection of my car on my birthday.

So what are the odds of the below happening?

I'm conscious that there's a very small number indeed of GR86s in the country so far - I'm not sure of the number (anyone want to hazard an educated - or uneducated - guess?), so the chances of seeing one (other than our own) are tiny, really.

Obviously you can increase your chances of seeing another (and this is where many of our GR86 'spotteds' have occurred) by for example visiting The Motorist, dropping your car off at a detailers/PPF-ers in the midst of GR86 delivery season, or popping to a Toyota dealer so they can activate voice controlled window opening or whatever you are all doing.

Imagine my surprise, then, when I happened to be absent-mindedly looking out of an upstairs window at home, whilst looking at this very site and questioning why (as I have been many times in January over the years) I am NOT currently enjoying the temperate delights of Costa Adeje, Tenerife, Canary Islands like our esteemed Zoo Company leader @AndyRC, when a red GR86 comes past my house?

I live on a rural, pretty quiet road with fairly minimal traffic (apart from tractors). What are the odds?

I'll pop something in the 'spotted' section, but it was a red GR86 at 11.15am in rural North Warwickshire. I didn't get the reg, cos the car was shall we say being driven 'with purpose' (perfectly safely, it's a fast road).

I live in London whilst I don't drive a huge amount I do see and lot of cars and normally pay attention to what's driving past me or parked on the street. Yet in the past year I've seen only 2 GT86s and not a single GR86 except for my car and the car I test drove back in November.

A mate of mine saw one parked outside his house and sent me a pic - of course it was the one I test drove from Hills of Woodford. Didn't stop me telling him that I'd bought it for him as an early birthday present and he'd spoiled the surprise.

I imagine the first time I see another whilst I'm driving I'll be flashing my lights, hooting my horn and waving my hands out of the window. Hopefully I'll be driving the GR and not the wife's A3 at the time. :)
