Hello all,

First time poster. I'm in the market for a car and after extensive research have settled on a GRY. Not sure if my post is intended for the original GR or gen.2 forum.

There are a few options in my market (Switzerland), but I want to tap into the wealth of knowledge on this board and ask whether you'd buy:

  1. a black 2021 with 45800km, 30,900 chf (swiss franc)
  2. a white 2022, 52000km, 31,000chf
  3. a white 2021, 31500km, 31,900chf
Not a huge difference in price and so option 3 stands out as its the least driven. But are there many variations between the 2021 and 22 models? My budget precludes me from buying anything above these prices so a 2023-4 is out of the question.

Thanks for any advice!

Welcome to the forum.

There is no difference between the years for the gen 1 so go for the best you can find.

So #2 is a Circuit Pack vehicle and the other two aren't (having checked the postings). Isn't this the first question to answer, i.e. which one you 've been targeting? Or doesn't it matter for you?

yes this is correct. and you raise a good question, whether i need the circuit or comfort/conv pack, which i haven't really considered until now. i suppose the circuit pack is good value. is the convenience pack really that useful for a daily driver?

here is the link to the cars i'm looking at fyi

I know that list, selling one myself, appearing in that :)

Whether you need the Torsen differentials is a debatable subject, I guess. Driving-wise, it strongly depends on the exact use and driving style you envisage. My personal opinion is that the Circuit Pack one has bigger value overall, mechanically speaking.

Also, check your DMs here!

I'd recommend to go for a Circuit Pack, and enjoy the car :)

Definitely go for the Circuit Pack! There’s a reason why Gen2 is only available as a Circuit Pack – it’s the real deal 😏

If you live in a twisty bit of Switzerland then definitely get the diffs. They make a huge difference coming out of hairpins.

Apparently 😇

Not to make things difficult but I've never felt at a loss without LSDs flying around twisty b roads in Wales or the peak district, frankly this car takes a lot more talent than most have to notice the difference diffs make at anything other than silly speeds, that said if they're similarly priced circuit is probably the better choice, especially if tracking

and I'd be lying now that things are more healthy financially that I'm not tempted by the quaife LSDs
