GR Yaris Brakes Seized On!

I don't think it's inferior metal.

High-performance (steel) brakes seem to collect surface rust way faster than your typical econobox. Something in the alloy is different I suppose.

I always leave it in gear and never use the handbrake for parking, so no clunks!

I've noticed light score marks on my rear discs, but nothing on the fronts. Regarding the handbrake, doesn't that operate a drum brake, rather than the pads squeezing the disc, therefore shouldn't affect the disc surface?

brake shoes on inside of the brake disc bell, they can still seized on in damp weather and the shoe surface can still corrode, i usually run with the handbrake on a few clicks when i first drive mine after being stood a while just to clean up the surfaces

come april time it will have the rears stripped to see how the shoes/drum surfaces are

Normal in modern friction materials, also, wheel cleaner, traffic Film remove etc really react with modern pads, this can cause a big chunk of pad Material to stick to your disc.. And that's not warranty as it's miss-use.

Your brakes stickig is normal, it's in the manual.
 
Remove the rear pads and check them over yourself.
If you've locked them on then heard the bang on release and click click click from the disc afterwards you have lost part of your pads.
I've had to drive like that awaiting new pads (£45).
Here's the tell tale sign on the rear...

No you haven't because the handbrake does not work on the rear pads. There is a drum brake for the handbrake so it will be the shoes seizing on.

My handbrake works fine, it was a pads to disc Fusion caused by salty wet conditions and parked up for a few days.
Wreaked my rear pads, great chunks missing from them

Oh okay. My apologies. I've had the stick on situation a few times, more when I've washed the car and not driven it. Or left if for two days or more when it's been raining.
 
If you leave your car outside spray some diluted atom-mac on the discs and it prevents this
