GR Yaris BFM Performance Vented hood

I didn't get the carbon bumper. Bit rich for me and I'm not keen on the looks so mine is red FRP.

I'm sure their bonnet will be fine. I have a cheap ebay carbon bonnet which is a bit shit so the BFM one can't be worse than mine 😂

I'm thinking of just getting it installed. Sending back would likely cost a fortune and all for nothing, plus I'm not keen on Toms vents currently installed and there aren't many options bumper-wise. Decisions decisions!

Will keep you updated.

Took it in this morning. Got a call this afternoon saying the parking sensor holes are too big 🙄 and the bumper itself won't attach properly and needs taping on, and said he certainly wouldn't put it on his car. Not sure what to do from here 😭
Well that's disappointing.

Recently imported a carbon bonnet from China. Took a risk. Delivery was around 8 weeks. They accidently sent it by sea freight LOL, then refunded me the difference in cost so not out to rip me off. Very good to deal with actually.
The fit is OK, not perfect. It has about 2mm more clearance on the sides. Front is ok.

👍 Probably still worth reaching out to BFM, hopefully they'll be nice enough to offer a partial refund at least, no harm in asking.

I will say their customer service has been excellent so far. They send photos before things have shipped (which helps if you know what you're looking at 🤦‍♂️) and follow up after delivery to check you're happy. I even ordered the wrong cooling panel and they arranged the return while it was in transit and sent the replacement without any fuss.

So I hope this doesn't put anyone off buying their stuff. Except maybe the bumper 😂 but it is what it is, their instructions are legit so they haven't hid anything from me.

I've emailed about the parking sensors being wrong and it needing filling and painting etc so will see what they say. Thing is, the body shop now want £1100 to fit it and me to sign a waiver about the blind spot monitors potentially not working 😫 might have to take it elsewhere, I don't think they're keen to do it

Okay, I should have updated this sooner sorry. After a lot of back and forth and sending photos of my current bumper, they are creating a new bumper to correct specs at no extra cost to me! Plus they're attempting to sell this wrong one.

Again, can't fault their service! They really have gone above and beyond. I've had much worse service from local companies, never mind half way around the world. You can buy without concern.

I also recently installed the radiator cooling panel for Eventuri which fits perfectly 👍

I've bought one, took about three months to come but it's very impressive in the flesh. Fit is good and the communication was excellent, updates, photos etc.
I've done some basic testing with regards to temps and it reduces oil temps by an average of 10 degrees (road driving). Track testing next week, but i anticipate similar results.
Did you get it painted or left as exposed carbon?

Exposed carbon, as the painted option wasn't available at the time. Its looks great, but i would have gone for the painted option if i could!

I'm considering installing a carbon fiber hood and found a company in Poland called motoweld.pl. I'm planning to see their finished product installed on my car soon. From the reviews I've read and from people who have already purchased it, I've heard nothing but positive things about both the look and the build quality. You can also order it with a gloss or matte finish.

Did you received the hood? I’m considering buying carbon hood and looking where to from. Thanks!

Also, has anyone ordered and measured the real weight of BMF vented hood? They have a lot of options (from forged carbon to FRP).

Well... I'm afraid to say I take it all back! All of it, I cannot recommend these bumpers whatsoever. The new bumper was delivered a while ago and the original body shop refused to fit it as they felt it was "garbage" and, with being fibreglass, would break at some point especially with track usage.

So me and a mate (detailer and ex panel-beater, so he knows his way around bumpers) attempted it on my driveway. Now, aside from the vents being completely different to the original one - not as deep and worse-looking which wasn't explained by BFM, just that the vents needed "adjustment" but no specifics - we could not make the diffuser line-up at the towing-eye hole at all!!

IMG_20260426_105758869.webpIMG_20260426_105812967.webpIMG_20260426_105815800.webpIMG_20260426_105821690.webpIMG_20260426_105824811.webp

So we gave up and put the OEM bumper back on, which perfectly lined-up with the diffuser with 0 effort. BFM said that we had not followed the instructions properly.

So I took it to a nearby body shop who have over 25 years experience and didn't mention my attempt but told them that they must follow the instructions. They called me in the afternoon to come and take a look before they drilled or cut anything (WHAT?!?) and hey-ho, the diffuser wasn't lining up again but was even further out because they had managed to get it flush with the bumper unlike my attempt. They also found the holes to mount the bumper to the body didn't line-up either but could drill them out to make it fit, same with the diffuser.

BFM are again saying that the instructions haven't been followed and I need to find a better body shop! Sorry, but I'm currently a couple hundred ££ out of pocket on install attempts for this piece of junk and I'm not wasting any more money on it. I don't see how any amount of "instructions" would make this diffuser fit without drilling, and really when paying this much for something it should just fit like OEM or maybe minimal tweaking at worst. The instructions also say to drill and screw to the car itself which I refuse to do. I would not have bought this if I knew that beforehand.

They say that they test fitted it before sending but there's no proof of this, and they are also refusing any refund, even part of. Their customer service initially seemed great but after this experience I can only retract my above recommendation and now recommend you AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
