It has the smaller brake disks from the JDM RC gravel version. About £2000yes i really like the big chubby tryres and little wheels , not a fan of rubber bands , looks great . Wheels just fit over the discs - neat - I want a set !
Wow- thank you - this is opening up a whole new world to me on this thread ,, /I hadnt thought of the concept of rally recce cars and then of course... all the bits that go with it - thanks very much onehp - for the wheel size info on our GRY & im going to investigate that JDMRC gravel version and what wheels tyres brakes etc ....... I owe you all a pint on this thread - thank youIt has the smaller brake disks from the JDM RC gravel version. About £2000
Braid 7x17 Fullrace A et40 are the smallest that fit well over the standard BBK otherwise, can add a litte taller tyre to that eg 215/50 or 205/55
Here with 205/50

I hope you don’t mind - everyone is telling me NOT to go on 17, but I just don’t get it out of my head and am turning in circles…..When running my 205/50 R17 during winter, my overall impression is that they track a lot nicer (then my 235 summers), not fazed by ruts and cambers, much cleaner in the steering, compliancy really helps the OE damping (which doesn't like small sudden obstacles). The 205 also works a lot better in loose surfaces, although bit hard to know what is due to the tyre type (nordic friction winter vs summer sport tyre).
Going back and forth if I should go narrow permanently, main hinderance is reduced tyre availability (less choice)...
I have both the Braids and the ProTracks (pics) . The big difference is the width and the tyre choice. I ran 235 all-season tyres on the Protracks but got annoyed at the squealing in curves when ambients were above 15-20°C. CC2 should be better though then the Nexens I had. Not all 235 sit well on the rim (GoodYear OK rim protection, some others zero) and 245 is getting very wide imho. But again would work quite good with CC2 I presume.I hope you don’t mind - everyone is telling me NOT to go on 17, but I just don’t get it out of my head and am turning in circles…..
And I would be down to 2 options (which seem the only ones legal in CH): Protrack One in 17*9 ET 45 or Evocorse Gr. A in 7*17 ET 35 - which are close to your Braids.
As I value your opinion: Assuming the set of 17 would just be “for fun on B-Roads and Mountains within legal limits” on all-season tyres like the Crossclimate 2 or alike. You’re neither tracking the car nor looking for illegal levels of speed in corners. For wich of your 2 sets would you go? Suspension is stock, apart from H&R swaybars front &rear, with a non aggressive alignment done. Thanks!
Thank you very much for the input- tending me to the Protracks….I have both the Braids and the ProTracks (pics) . The big difference is the width and the tyre choice. The look is also very different, Evocorse look very rally, lovely, while the Protracks have more a track vibe although since I have them in white I think it's a nice blend of track/rally vibe with some JDM drift vibe thrown in with the stretched drift tyres I'm currently rocking....
Made the same observation last spring when changed my 205/55r17 studded pirellis to stock BBS wheels and tires. The narrower tyres tracked straight no matter the surface, but the steering effort was lighter than stock. In deep ruts the stock setup is all over the place is comparison. When running my 205/50 R17 during winter, my overall impression is that they track a lot nicer (then my 235 summers), not fazed by ruts and cambers, much cleaner in the steering, compliancy really helps the OE damping (which doesn't like small sudden obstacles).
