Hello guys, I recently wrapped my stock discs on a trackday. I had Endless pads front and rear, brake lines and shims and good fluid (no additional cooling yet). I would like to go some European brand on them so I can easy buy replacement discs without the bell housing when needed. This is the brands I'm looking at:

Alcon
AP Racing (String Theory)
AP Racing (Reyland Motorsport)
Girodisc
Any other worth considering?

I would like to know if someone know diferences between the AP ones, and what would you go for? I have tried Alcon on a GTR with very good results, I like lightweight but considering they are all lighter than stock I would go for quality/price first, see what you guys think or what is your experience, cheers

I got Alcon discs from Ross sport, they were great, but everything still got very hot and went through pads and discs at a rate even with cooling, shims and decent fluid. Some people do the brake pistons on OEM calipers too.

I eventually went to the Alcon 6pot with 32mm discs, haven’t really tried them out yet.

I would happily have gone AP for OEM or BBK too.

EBC make two-piece floating discs with alloy bells that aren’t expensive.

I wouldn’t bother with their pads, but the discs are good.

I’ve had them on for two years now using shims and, currently, DS2500 pads and they’ve handled everything I’ve thrown at them. I do about 11,000 miles a year and they’ve spent weeks going up hill and down dale on European tours, plus the odd Nürburgring trip etc.

Will be inspecting them shortly when I change my wheels for the summer and will see how they are doing for wear.

I agree with Duke. The day I have to replace my discs, I'll go for those EBC.
Scara73 offers light weight better than OEM cooled brake discs as per his videos. I haven't tested them, neither do I know of anybody having done so.

Hi!

I am using GR Yaris as my track day car since 2021, I did more then 25 events now.
From my experience, I highly recommend both discs and pads from lava.mu.
Disc are available in a few variants but what is the most important you can get bigger disc (360x30) with much improved cooling and heat capacity without need of changing calipers. They are way cheaper and lighter then OEM too.
From my own testing I can say that my brake cooling problems disappeared when I started using those discs.
This is small polish manufacturer who develops products for motorsport use in track conditions.
The best way to contact is to write on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/lavaracing) or Whatsapp (+48 514 004 141).

Their products may be great but if their shop front is a Facebook page then it’s a no from me I’m afraid.

Because this isn’t online shop. If you are afraid I highly recommend writing to them. The owner is extremely experienced person in topic of brakes in general. He wants, as much as possible, talk to each customer in order to understand needs and receive all possible feedback. Truly admirable form of building the trademark if you ask me :)

A bit hard when they don’t even have their phone number showing ;)
