GR86 Anyone managed to get any insurance quotes for the GR86?

Ok thanks, Admiral now my lowest quote as the LV one went up £275 since I last looked! Online didn't recognise the plate but maybe I'll speak to someone tomorrow (y)

Just did a quote on compare th market for the sake of it without using my no claims and it came back at £440 for Hastings. £410 with them if I used my 12 year NCB. I’ll never understand insurance…

No it's crazy, I was trying to keep both my policies with DirectLine but if they can't do the 86 then a multicar quote with Admiral is about £750 to cover the GRY and GR86 or £550 for just the GR86 on its own as it'd only have 1 year NCD... More research tomorrow!

I've had a quote from Chris Knott at £648 including a couple of mods + partner + business mileage which I didn't think was too bad. Would've preferred to go back to greenlight but the cars value is too high for them.
Heard good things about CK though so may just go with them. Shout if you've heard otherwise!

Same with Flow who are part of LV. Went up hundreds in a few days.
Hastings seem to be more competitive now.

I've taken the insurance plunge at £750. I'm under 30, I have a write-off in 2019 and zero no claims to use on this car so I guess it's not too bad. Would hope for a healthy reduction next year though! Was with Admiral.

Hastings don't recognise my plate if I go straight through their own website, but I just logged in through Quidco, then to CompareTheMarket and into Hastings and it kind of forced the plate into the quote.
£342 Fully Comp ain't too bad with the O/H claim declared of a few years ago. Hopefully a few pennies back through Quidco too eventually. Result. (y)

Decent, thanks. Very similar to me, O/H just started a claim on her policy, £385 with Hastings with me just having 1 year NCD on there and leaving my main policy alone.

Might be the most straightforward. DL want a cancellation fee of £41.18 + £31.62 admin fee as the renewal is due in Jan?!!

ETA: ...still doesn't recognise the plate. Need to call.

Well, I just ran my details through compare the market again, gone from £3.5k about a month ago, down to about £1k now. Which is about right for my driving record, location etc. Glad the systems have caught up and calmed down.

Which insurance company is mods friendly? I plan on doing some small mods through the year so would like to be able to call up and update the insurance which eac mod change

Brentacre is who I’ve used. Don’t increase premiums for visual stuff, only if power goes up by over 10%. Looked after me well for a few years now.

Doesn't look like Brentacre have our car listed on their site yet

Parkers now showing both MT and AT in group 45 - the manual had previously gone up to group 50.
Still seems very high for what it is, given that the GR Yaris and Supras are all in 37 or lower...

Toyota £850 without the ducktail so would increase. Also quoted with 2 years NCD but will be 0 so likely going to be around 1k all in. Admiral is £517 with the ducktail.

Ive ended up going monthly in the hope more insurers will add the car and the price will drop, admiral gold is costing me £60 a month 😭
