GR86 Another Special Edition??

So the article below shows another special edition that's not coming to the UK, it's the 10th anniversary edition that it apparently only going to Australia.

Not entirely sure if this is an official run or just something that fans are hoping for but it looks pretty cool, although does have the head unit omitted...

It will be interesting to see how Toyota Australia allocate the 86 anniversary cars Let’s hope they don’t ask Toyota U.K. for advice

The Toyota system in Japan for the GRYaris MN editions seemed very fair an equitable, AFAIK anyone interested registered online , after a cut off date, then there was effectively a “draw a name from a hat” , the lucky folk were then invited to place a deposit via a dealer (or something close to that). It’s a lottery but at least everyone had an equal chance.

As we have nothing else to do (other than have a good moan at TUK) how would you allocate the cars How about first 86 folk who can wrestle a croc for 86 seconds gets an ORCA

PS I’m not referring to one of those Crocs you put on your feet , if you wear those you are barred from entering

Notwithstanding the fact that it's a bit galling to watch special anniversary editions being launched before we're even anywhere near getting the "normal" edition - what exactly does this offer? From what I can see, you get:
- A different colour (which looks awful IMO)
- "Two-tone" interior in the same awful colour (and by "two-tone" they seem to mean "a bit of colour on the seat so you won't see it when you're sat inside")
- No head unit
- A badge on the door card to let everyone know you've actually paid (presumably more) for the above.

Is that it?

Agree with the above, in no way do I feel like we’re missing out. If they were doing a circuit pack model with a big brake kit and forged alloys I’d have serious FOMO.

Build your own , that’s my plan bit by bit over a few winters using OEM parts where possible/practical

AFAIK only Spain appear to be getting a Circuit Pack option and that looks as though it may be done when the standard car lands in Spain and Toyota Espana get the spanners out A Circuit Pack for a few extra £k would have had a lot of takers here.

The US version, looks much much better IMO.

I wouldn't feel too hard done if this version was sold in the UK and I missed out.

Looks awesome lowered with the BBK here. Also coming back to the idea of wanting the lip spoiler.. wasn’t convinced for a while there.

Yeah arde.hidetoame is the account name, he’s had stuff posted on here before but the GR brake kit is a recent addition. He has the car looking perfect imo.
