GR86 Am I missing something ( a speaker ) ?

Hi all ,
I was opening up the dash speakers to do a simple tweeter upgrade , to find only a LHS passenger midrange speaker and no drivers RHS.
It’s a uk car
Is this normal ? Maybe it’s not part of car audio and part of hands free telecom ?

Any ideas ?

Yes, it's only supposed to be on one side, either for the phone or engine sounds.

Midrange in the door and tweeter on the dash are all the speakers you get up front, with the tiny coaxials in the back.

Do we actually know what that is for? I heard it was for the SOS emergency thingy. it would be nice if it didn't exist so we could use a nice three way set.

He mentions the SOS speaker at 6 minutes - he moves it so he can fit a 3 way speaker system.

This is a speaker for SOS calls specific to european cars. It goes by 2 wires into the telematics unit.

If you are putting 4" speakers to the dash, move this SOS speaker inside the dash.

Fake engine sound speaker is a different one, a boxy one in the center of the dash. That's why it sometimes rattles there if you leave it connected.
