All models All DIY Detailing Things

I’ve got one of those but it felt a bit thick, hence my ‘rule & cloth’ method. The window was well steamed up too, no doubt because the car hasn't been used. Never mind, it's got a run out in the snow on Monday with it's (38 miles covered) PS4 Summer Tyres - hopefully I'll make it to ATS without crashing so as I can get the A/S tyres fitted, otherwise the cleaning will have been all in vain

Does anyone have an EZ go brush, and if so, do you know if it fits in the wheel arches nicely?

[Birthday Rant=ON] Well, I've given their stuff a go, but I've mostly found that the HydroUK products are a bit w*nk. The pre-wash is best totally avoided if you have PPF as it causes something I'd liken to water spotting, even if used on a cool day and left to dwell for the minimum amount of time. I had to go over the car again with Gtechniq products to get rid of the stains. Talking of stains, why does their Quick Detailer leave streak marks all over the paintwork? I've used less, I've used more, but every time after buffing and get it in the right light, it looks like a damp rag has been dragged over the paintwork. Dodo Juice Mint Conditioner had to be used to restore the clarity, before applying the Ceramic Spray to top off. I've now consigned the HydroUK products to my shelf-of-shame, whereupon you may also find the likes of Carplan Trade Valet Wheel Cleaner (Really W*nk), Back-to-Black (Super W*nk) and Demon Tyre Shine (Ultra W*ank). [Birthday Rant=OFF]
Have a great day people of the internet! ;)

Is this the guys who seem to have spent a fortune on social media advertising? I view these adverts like I do a tv shampoo commercial. They have some nice B-roll, squeezing the product out of the bottle, but you know the subject being filmed has already been given a full going over by dab-hand with all the best toys. The hair model probably had her hair professionally styled beforehand too.

Yup. That's them, mostly via Facebook 'shorts'. Remember kids, Red Wine and Internet Shopping is not smart. Just say no, and not "Ah gwanthenyafeckers ... hic" 🍷😵‍💫

Yes thats what I use for mine and they make short work of the inner rims and spokes and even get behind the calipers, then just use a Vikan of some sort for the faces and tires.

December 2023, a little late to respond sorry.

I asked MrsTheWife for some snowfoam for my birthday (last week), as I'd almost run out. She presented me with this :

She hadn't looked at the size options on the website. Luckily it's my preferred product and I'll probably never have to buy any more - ever!

That looks like a great way to turn a bottle of suds into a main birthday present. She's clever. :ROFLMAO:

I use that snow foam as well!

What do you guys use for contact wash? I've just run out of "Meguiars Gold Class Car Shampoo and Conditioner" and was thinking of using something new. Any recommendations?

For pure shampoos, you won't go wrong with Dual Bahama Blue or Dodo Juice Born to be Mild.
My other favourite is Laboscosmetica Semper, the smell itself is worth the purchase.

If your car is ceramic coated, then you could wash with Infinity Wax Synergy Refresh once a month. This will help unclog ceramics and being back some hydrophobicity.

I can recommend Maguire's Shampoo Plus and Adams Blue Shampoo (especially in the summer).

Further to my post (#164) above and the unimpressive TrustPilot review that I followed it up with; today I received an email from Josh at HydroUK asking me if I would consider removing my review in exchange for a full refund of my order. I wonder how many other people with negative reviews have retracted them for paid silence? 🤐
My review will stay in place and I’ll not be responding to the email. Chancer 🫤

Good. Hopefully your feedback was constructive/reflective of the experiences you had and they will work to improve their products. Seen many brands do this over the last 18 years of car ownership now and they get there eventually.

Only the worst organisations operate that way.

Sales Manager at Porsche Bristol offered me £200 to complete a new car Handover Questionnaire with positive comment.

What a @$%&. I went full Sonic.
