GR Yaris 621 Run in

Actually the engine of the new NSX from Honda is undergoing a completely break in in the factory on a test bench. But that's the only example i know though. Guess this exclusive for, uhm exclusive cars.
I meant every GR Yaris engine. Other manufacturers may do the same test on a rolling road for volume models, more time effective.
Actually breaking in on a bench is indeed very time consuming and costly in a production environment that otherwise usually is hunting for seconds here amd there in faster production.
Didn't know about the NSX, before I heard Porsche did it with their GT engines but they probably stopped doing that long ago too, modern tolerances don't necessitate it like before.

Slightly of topic, but our GRY is a bit special as our engines are assembled by one person incl weighing pistons iirc, so bit exclusive after all...

So today I went out to some back B roads and let’s just say stretched out the rev band some what. Very entertaining and enjoyable. Did not push limits hard or long. My wife has a Up Gti (cracking car) and The handbook advises care for the first 600 miles and then to build up to using the full performance by 1,000 miles. Personally I found the Toyota version very vague and obviously from all the threads it can be interpreted differently. I will get to the 621 mark before Armageddon! But intend on a few more smiles between now and then with the rev band.
