🤬 What makes you go GRRRRRR?

I still overtake things everyday, whatever I drive. It's definitely a skill many have lost or never had. But I do see those who you wouldn't expect to, now try it with these new limits. Since I overtake quite a bit and drive briskly when appropriate, I must look like a hooligan, compared to all the others driving so slowly. Second I see they want to be less than the limit, whatever limit then I'm working out how and when to pass. Life is too short.

Re. overtaking - I was fortunate as my dad (who did all of the driving with my mum passengering when I was growing up cos it was the 70s and 80s!) was a prolific (safe) overtaker, and still is well into his seventies.

Being a highly trained emergency response driver helped.

Therefore I grew into my driving with overtaking being a perfectly acceptable, natural part of everyday driving.

It does definitely seem to be a lost art.

Is it possible to punch nature in the face cause it makes you grrr!? šŸ˜…

I thought a neighbour was winding me up as the trees have never dropped this bad before lol! :ROFLMAO:

It’s good fun in Wales at the moment with the new 20 mph limits. I’ve been behind people the last few days doing 40 mph in a 60, which is a bit annoying as it’s too slow for well sighted country roads, then you get to a village, the 20 signs appear (usually with the 2 sprayed over already) and they carry on at 40!

Then there’s the other numpties crawling through at an indicated 15 mph and constantly tapping the brakes.

I just want people to drive normally. Actually I don’t, I want them to stay at home, watch TV and eat crisps. Sell their maroon Picasso, buy a nice big 70ā€ OLED jobbie and eat their own bodyweight in Doritos. To an early grave.
Yeah I drove over the Bwylch the other weekend and down towards Afan the speed limit changes from 40 down to 20 then back up again. It was amusing with people tailgating me aggressively for doing 20 then leaving them for dead on the way back up the hill. I think a lot of people just do 40 everywhere.

Overtaking is all about making progress. Often now when someone happens upon a driver in front going slower than the limit they simply stay behind preferring not to overtake, which is infuriating especially when they are joined by others with the same apathy.

I quite relish driving past a line of them when the chance comes.

Similarly, roundabouts are specifically there to IMPROVE traffic flow but that doesn't stop idiot imbeciles waiting (as a previous poster mentions) until the road is clear for miles before pulling away.

The short answer is virtually all other road users. The majority are weapons who have entitlement issues, sight impairments and seem to glued to their phone/sat nav. You know the sort. They have a sat nav in front of their face directly in their line of vision. Why does no one seem to know where they are going anymore? The majority seem to have their sat nav on.

A special mention to lane hoggers and anyone who just pulls out taking no account of the speed of the car coming at them or the distance. The majority now seem to think it’s their right to just go at a junction. I was taught that you can go if you don’t make the other driver slow down. Part of the problem is that the roads are now so congested that approach doesn’t really work. It’s now becoming a bit more like most counties. If there’s a gap, someone’s filling it and *$@Ā£ everyone else. A shame really. When I started driving, there was driving etiquette. Now everyone does what the hell they want.
