GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

A bit late but I have only just recovered from my 'race the sun', Denmark style this past weekend. This is from Blåvand (west) to Møns Klint (east), both of which are Unesco nature sites so great start and end points. Amazing Sand Dunes one end and White Cliffs the other. Driving I tried to stay...

    GR86 Exhausts

No I did not - Paul could not fit me in when I was in the UK, he had a lead time of three weeks when I spoke to him. I will do when I am back in the UK for late summer and will plan my time better next time. I would also like to source some spare OEM components in prep... maybe get them sent...

    GR86 Exhausts

That's really useful, I have been in conversation with Paul at PCW and had debated just doing the back box. For anyone else interested he will also do a `partial` front which reduced the noise significantly over the full modification. This was his recommendation to me rather than just the rear...

Currently in Surrey! So that makes more sense.

Your photo captures it soo much better,,,,, made me think just for a second how good the car would look with a clear matt wrap in a similar pattern contrasting with normal gloss paint. Then I moved on,,,

Silly thing, an opposite winter experience. Looking out the window this morning the ice that had formed on the car had made some amazing feather / floral type patterns…. Quite cheered me up, here’s the bonnet, although photo does not do justice to the impact.

I was just parroting Scott and Mark. My car will be the same spec as a UK GR86, and in fact was more similar to a red UK car they had turbo'd (prior to that work). So I have the GPF after the headers but not the American cars carbon filter. I think a Japanese spec car has neither? The outbound...

Thursdays was Bacon apparently ....what day is sausage? Just for those looking to plan their future Abbey booking! One of the things that was completed at Abbey was a dyno run on my mechanically stock car at about 15k miles. This was done as a health check as my car was feeling very constrained...

I was at Abbey Motorsport today for some work (I'll write that up in a different thread). A different experience... offered a home cooked bacon bap (politely declined to protect waistline) and a lot of interesting metal to look around from model-a hot rod / several high spec turbo / supercharged...

Drove to the the UK from Copenhagen over the weekend. Not too bad conditions, even nice sun in France. Transported my nervous traveller dog and it was a bit of a master class on how not to do it! I'll update the appropriate "transporting dogs" thread when I have recovered! Before someone...

GR86 Winter wheel & tyre advice

It's really great to get real feedback so thanks. It sounds like they could be a good whole year option. When you have been on them for a bit it would be useful to understand the noise levels. Are these like the original CC2s that helped damp out the drone / hum when cruising? I know your car...

Was due to go to my dealer to get the door to window trim / rubber changed because the little end cap has come out. Anyone else had this? However snow or in reality the amount of salt that had been spread made me postpone…. Gratuitous photo of first skiff of snow:

    GR86 "Change of circumstances"

Just seen here in Denmark the Prelude price is 650,000 DKK, which is not much of a step up from the auto GR86 which would have come in at 600k. I think here the better emissions value really helps close the gap. Such a shame about that UK pricing vs luxury car tax, seems a very odd bit of market...

GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Bought and collected a set of second hand winter wheels. The law has changed this year in Denmark to the German model of you must have winter tyres in winter conditions vs previous voluntary switch. This has meant more demand so pickings have been scarce on our equivalent to eBay. However these...

GR86 Importing my 2023 JDM BRZ

I am interested! Which version / brand did you go for? I think there were a couple options when I last looked.

Just back from my second service. Cost here was 735 GBP! Although 120 of that was an Aircon service, above and beyond the standard. As far as I can tell no diff oil or brake fluid, but who knows what Subaru say on this topic - I can't find a similar checklist. Key thing is the stamp in the book...

GR86 Sticky and jerky first, second and reverse gear

Do you have any more info as to what was damaged? & did you have any increase in gear whine prior? I am a bit behind you but my car is driving obstructively in terms of gearshift but it's just about workable. Some videos I have taken are now going to Subaru to be assessed - hoping they will...

    GR86 "Change of circumstances"

Not a great time to sell and move on. It may be that the value in spring even with higher miles is not far off the price you might get trading in now, perhaps use that to mentally offset the fuel cost. I have done some big kms on tours and I have moved on from worrying so much about the number...

GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Just back from the second of two week long breaks both in Denmark, one on the island of Langeland the second on Bornholm. While neither are typical driving nirvanas both had one thing in common, lots of back roads winding their way around fields often with nice 90 degree turns for tail waggles...
