Could someone have tried to close the bonnet, and caught the bonnet holding arm because its not been clipped in? Get someone to hold the bonnet up, unclip the arm and see if it can ‘sit’ over that point.

If you paid the £550 2nd year, then you paid for the diff oil change. I’d be insisting, I never pay for something I’ve not got.

Sometimes when locking the car (either simple lock or lock & disarm keyless), the fob just doesn’t respond. Same thing both keys, so not a fob battery issue. Worthy of a chat with Toyota, or does everyone have the occasional non responsive fob? To solve it, I open the car door and close...
