Ester based oils are usually way more expensive than “normal” oils, thus not making financial sense. Save the money with the normal oil and “invest” those saved pennies to an earlier oil change. Go for Ester based oil for serious track duty like Motul 300V.
My opinion: You cannot get the right...
17mm, 42 Nm for the drain plug. Oil filter hand tight only! Check and re-tight the filter after the first heat cycle and you’re good to go.

Mobil 1 ESP 5w-30! That's what I run now.
This is the first time ever I want to say that oil change changed the sound of my engine. Whenever I heard someone say that oil change made their car run better I always believed it is a placebo. But in this case I am 100% confident my engine runs...
I just received result of my latest oil analysis. If anyone interested, please have a look here: https://www.gr-zoo.com/threads/first-oil-change-poll.2776/post-107062
Here is a follow up to my oil analysis experiments... While 1 oil analysis won't tell you the whole story, it is clear that the wear stabilised.
Key takeaway here is, how the FA24 is harsh on the oil, look how much the oil sheared down in just 3k road miles. This is the main reason why I won't...
Re 1 - 5 and 8: it will void warranty for the part that you change basically. There is nothing to worry about especially when it comes to GPF back (cat back) exhaust. These are literally just pipes to reduce noise and guide emissions to the rear of the car.
Things to consider when going for...
yeah, the Ravenol DXG is very similar, I was actually picking between this and the Motul Eco-Lite 5W-30.
All API SP (RC) and ILSAC GF-6A 5W-30 oils will be very very close to each other as these are fuel economy focused oils and there is not much room to stay in the 5W-30 spec.
Generally...
decent oil, great option between protecting the engine and fuel economy as is it on the thinner side of a 30 weight oil. I had this in my car and it is fine for daily/casual spirited drives, it held viscosity ok. However, it is still thin for hard driving/extended high temps.
The heatshield was already mounted at the lowest point unfortunately. But I am glad that I re-fitted everything... As I was removing the heatshield I realized the heat tape was loose and very very close to the accessory belt. I just removed the heat tape for now and will monitor intake temps. I...
I really appreciate you come back to this issue. I will try it soon hopefully (Thursday probably) and report back.
Meanwhile I found a photo, where it is clearly visible. It is probably exaggerated due to the contrast of white paint and black seals between the bonnet and the bumper. But once I...
I would also like to hear your feedback regarding fitment with the hood. For me the hood is sitting a bit uneven since the intake install. When I look closely, the hood on the driver's side (your's probably passenger side haha) sits a tad higher. No matter how I re-fitted it, I can still see it...
Regarding the PCV. Initially during the first install I could maybe do full 2 turns. I didn’t wanted to damage it so I didn’t go any further.
It wasn’t leaking but I got pretty bad vibration as part of the hose was touching something under load.
After couple of heat cycles I was able to...
I can confirm it definitely doesn't feel like loosing any HP... but be aware that the K&N intake was tested on the North Ametican spec car. American cars come with the charcoal filter in the stock filter housing, which is known to reduce power output by 5-10 HP. I would assume any testing to be...
I understand this part 😅
What I meant was, was there something like a revision of the product from K&N recently and is it now supplied with a dry filter?
Because my kit definitely came with the pre-oiled filter and I bought it from an official K&N dealer in February 2024.
The intake definitely sounds stock or 90% stock when driving casually below 3.5k rpm and giving linear throttle inputs . But once you step on the gas it growls!
Don’t get me wrong, the sound is great and I love it. If I had to choose only one between an exhaust and the KN intake, I would take...
I remember you mentioned the Remark axle back was way too loud for your taste? I have both the Remark axle back and the KN intake. Honestly the intake is noisier than the axle back, at least in the interior. I mean I love the sound, it is a great intake. But might not be for you if you found the...
