Not had a problem with the buttons on mine. Can you get the new split screen, but with the higher resolution? I'm guessing not... 🤔

Maybe take it to the dealer to have it looked at regarding the gear change. That's not the case with all the cars, and so isn't a feature of them. I've read people have had problems with 2nd being a problem, but not necessarily 1st. There are plenty without any issues, and I know the gear...

That's a comparison between the Corolla RZ and the Corolla Morizo Edition, with the latter being the quickest round the course. No mention of the Yaris on that page. I guess the Yaris has been timed previously on the same course?
