I'm also a two hands on the wheel driver - the gear lever is already pretty perfectly placed for a quick flick without moving the rest of the arm much.
I have a short cable so leave my phone on top of the buckets and the doors close above it fine.
Agreed. I keep cars for 10 years/100,000 miles and the 10yr old A3 seems to be bomb-proof and looks like new inside and out. The GR86 won't. But that's OK. It's a cheap (by current standards) thing and I note modern A3s scratch up like nothing as well as they seem to have cheapened out the...
Very envious average speed as well. Mine's closer to half that :/ I had to drop out of the top button fairly quickly, but have remained in the next one since (just). It really does like long journeys though and the predicted range on a tank is pretty high these days (~350 indicated, ~400 if...
Rev hang isn't an issue for rev matching - you always increase the revs on downshifts (ie when you need to rev match to avoid underspeeding rear wheels). Throttle response/calibration, however, is vital.
Got a torrent of abuse from a white van man for 'driving too fast' as he tried to cut across in front of my straight ahead right of way - I was only doing 30mph and speed limit was 30, so I assume that's a compliment for the car looks faster than it's actually going??!
Distance travelled isn't the hard thing to calculate. Fuel used is. The control of how much to inject isn't likely to be logged - probably isn't even measured by volume. And then there's adjustments they may make for physiological benefits. If you use same pump and angle then brim to brim is...
They're never going to though - they have our money now and a remap is just another potential way for something to go wrong and them have to foot the bill. Dealer remaps usually only happen for legal/recall reasons.
I'm no expert, but I think for drifting you'll need a manual.
If you look at the curve for engine speed and compare it to vehicle speed you see they map very closely - there's a maximum difference. What the mechanism is for maintaining that I can only guess at - torque limiting is one, or that...
If I understand the specification right, electro-luminescent backlight rather than the dim glow in the corner microlight, and 50M water resistant rather than splash (<30M).
EDIT: also turns out the strap has better ventilation. Best £12 I've spent in ages :p
