GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Looks so good in the rain.. happy I went for grey! I suspect there's going to be quite a flood with the new registration

GR86 Gear lever vibration at idle

Nothing stood out to me as abnormal. Presume you're talking about box in neutral but clutch engaged (pedal released)?

    GR86 Forza Horizon 5

Nice work! It is a rather big and addictive game For now the car can't be bought, only won through seasonal rewards for this week (ending thursday). After that it'll no doubt appear again in future rewards, or can be bought through auction house if anyone is selling theirs.

    GR86 Positive thoughts

I think we lack the proper vocabulary to describe ride quality with enough justice - or maybe have to go into things like primary and secondary etc. etc. I certainly found the ride of a GR86 to be quite 'bouncy' over poor surfaces and perhaps together with the light steering and sensitive...

    GR86 Forza Horizon 5

Hmm, looks like it's the US basic spec. Don't like those coloured indicators or the base 17s.. Also magnetite grey is rather shiney so it looks more like silver..

    GR86 Jerky acceleration when cold?

We've got the watch thread.. maybe we need a driving shoes/general attire suitable for the 86 thread ;)

    GR86 Handling in the wet

Just make sure you're straight before you gun it and squeeze the throttle rather than switch it and it's fine. Both are things that are different to driving a FWD with LSD. Think delicate rather than chuck.

    GR86 Forza Horizon 5

Also the monthly rivals event has it, so you can try it now already. Sounds better than the real thing ;)

GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

I'm more intruiged as to how you manage to drive two cars at once ;)

GR86 The GR86 is like the film Oppenheimer and here's why

Funnily enough there's one of them in the next town over.. but seems they just sell the odd random secondhand car these days :'(

GR86 The GR86 is like the film Oppenheimer and here's why

Steven Eagell group. Supposedly a GR specialist, and my contact was the person in charge of all things GR.

GR86 The GR86 is like the film Oppenheimer and here's why

Yeah but my dealer isn't having any of it, so it's a manual unplugging job if I need to.

    GR86 The GR86 : Time for a reality check

I have this in every car if you just open a front window - you're turning the cabin into a drum. On four door cars you can open a rear window a crack to relieve this but on two doors you just have to use air-con at higher speeds.

    GR86 Duckbill or not?

Not at road speeds. I'd guess that at very top speeds it'd have a small effect on reducing lift. Drag is trickier - at low speeds it might increase it a touch (and probably why it's never fitted prior to registration for this reason in the UK) but if you could go fast enough to cause airflow to...

GR86 The GR86 is like the film Oppenheimer and here's why

Have to knock a star off as the GR86's 'active sound' and digital dash eschew point 6 - I would rather have neither!

    GR86 The GR86 : Time for a reality check

Never knew there was a button to fold in the mirrors - the test car ones folded in by hand perfectly fine (which is great - my main bugbear with powered fold is the cost when some idiot knocks them.)

GR86 What watch to match GR86?

Has to be a vintage Casio - does everything a watch should do, better, cheaper, and harks back to a forgotten age.

GR86 First Impressions Clutch and Accelerator

Agreed, it just felt like a short travel to me (as with the throttle). Didn't notice any concerns in traffic, just not as user-friendly as other modern cars, but a lot more user-friendly than some classics and tractors that I also get to drive!

    GR86 TPMS

They're devices that sit on the inside side of the tyre valve, which monitor pressure continuously and send a signal to the car wirelessly. When changing tyres I think they usually carry over the valve/TPMS assembly (in the past you always used to get new valves, but now think they'll only do if...
